Background
Gin is a travelling technician, moving from planet to planet, station to station, performing odd jobs and maintenance as he goes to pay for his supplies and travel expenses. Gin was never formally trained in any sort of engineering discipline, leading to almost all of his work being some combination of crude, uncoventional, wildly dangerous and highly effective. His attitude towards repair and craft has drawn a lot of criticism from most of his employers but as far as Gin is concerned, if it's stupid but it works, it ain't stupid.
Motivation
Gin is fairly carefree and easy going. Like most Duros, he is a natural explorer, travelling often and rarely staying in one place for any significant portion of time. While he is eager to learn and discover things, he also grows easily bored with things once they have been discovered, causing him to move on to the next thing to see or do. Even when performing other tasks, any spare hands are playing with pens, flicking switches or tapping any surface. He can often be found humming along to himself, feet tapping as he does so. The only thing that doesn't bore him is mechanics and code. The only limit is his imagination.
Obligations
Failed Installation. Gins unconventional attitude eventually ended him up in jail when he performed his usual work for the wrong client. Gin was hired by a junior imperial officer to improve the security protocols for the garrison that he was stationed at. Gin reasoned that there was nothing wrong with the current security system except the people that were using it, so he wrote an instructional video about data security and then installed traps at all external entrances that would open when someone used the wrong code. After several injuries to staff, including the officer who hired him, Gin was arrested and dragged away.
Description
Gin is a fairly scrawny looking Duros with pale blue skin and red eyes. Before he wound up in prison and was forced to wear grey and orange, Gin would wear a utility jumpsuit with hundreds of pockets, most of which would have small amounts of wire or tape sticking out of. On top of that, he'd wear a light flight jacket, something to hide a blaster in and to provide a bit of protection. Lastly, Gin has a pair of battered and well used pair of scanner goggles on his head, held together with duct tape and luck.
