Background

Clone Wars Veteran

Originally a low-level data analyst serving aboard a Trade Federation freighter, Viir Koh was conscripted into the Neimoidian Home Defense legion as the Clone Wars threatened to endanger Neimoidia and her purse worlds. During the final stages of the conflict, the Neimoidian Inner Circle officially joined the Separatist and the Republic was given cause to devastate the purse-worlds, burning the Neimoidian grub hatcheries to ground as woefully unprepared Neimoidian legions were slaughtered by the battle-hardened clone army.

Koh's technical aptitude was only revealed during the Clone Wars when his squad was pinned down inside a building. Out of grenades, he was able to rig up an IED out of blaster components to blast open a rusted hatch leading sewer line running beneath the structure, allowing his squad to escape as the building collapsed under heavy blasterfire.

Virtually everyone Koh had know was dead as the Outer Rim Sieges began and his legion was transferred to protect Cato Neimoidia, his homeworld and the last bastion of Neimoidian resistance. Once again, the clones swept through with reckless abandon, not caring about civilian casualties as they destroyed entire cities to root out any vestige of resistance. Koh and several other legionnaires abandoned their posts and flew into the planet’s forest, hoping that leaving would force the Republic to follow and leave Cato Neimoidia’s population centers intact while also increase his chances of living.

Unfortunately, he overestimated the kindness of the Republic’s leaders, and, even after the Separatist movement was effectively decapitated on Mustafar, the newly-formed Empire continued to crush his people under their oppressive heel. The war left Koh changed and he came to hate the Trade Federation, which he recognized as the reason for his one-proud people’s fall from grace, and is among those who have begun reevaluating his people's society. After years of hiding, the “Last Legion,” as the Neimoidians had taken to calling themselves, reemerged from the forests with a renewed determination to liberate their people and take back what is theirs from the Empire’s steely grip.

After years of annoying Imperial forces on the Neimoidian purse-worlds, the Last Legion was absorbed into the Rebel Alliance, though the aging Neimoidian still continues his crusade against oppression, despite regular attacks by fellow Rebels regarding his species' tarnished reputation, when not being confused for a Duros.

Motivation

Freedom

Koh is dedicated to the liberations, and perhaps even redemption, of the Neimoidian species, which was heavily oppressed by the Empire after the Clone Wars because of the Trade Federations actions during the final years of the Republic.

Duties

Sabotage

Years of fighting against the highly-skilled clone army prepared Koh for combating the Empire, who still use much of the same equipment as the Republic, especially in the Outer Rim. He knows the Empire's weaknesses and how to exploit them, and has found that sabotage and indirect fire is far more effective than running head-on into a storm of blaster fire.

Description

Although most don't notice it beneath his heavily-padded armor, Koh is extremely lanky, a characteristic typical of most Neimoidians. He has mottled green-gray skin and crimson eyes usually hidden behind a pair of data goggles. Koh traded his elaborate Neimoidian clothing for a tight-fitting military uniform when he joined the war, though he has since discarded it in favor of his people's stylish yet functional robes, hiding his body armor and impressive arsenal beneath its many heavy folds.

Uncharacteristic of most Neimoidian officers, Koh prefers to lead from the front after seeing how the Jedi inspired such courage from their men by leading fighting alongside those they commanded. Despite this, he likes to look before he leaps, knowing that throwing away his life meaninglessly won't help anyone, least of all his people.

Although he believes that the Separatist were in the right during the Clone Wars and that the Republic was corrupt beyond redemption, Koh is able to set aside his differences with the other Rebel, many of which he once fought against, if it means the liberation of his people. What he won't tolerate, however, are others comparing him to the offensive stereotypes often incorrectly associated with the whole of his people due to the actions of the Trade Federation, who he blames for causing the predicament of his people, as many Neimoidians have sacrificed their lives to restore freedom to the galaxy.
