Built by a rebel mechanic and engineer named Stieve Macht. Macht tried to make his machine conscious by duplicating his dead force sensitive son's mind and putting it into the droid so that the droid could wield the force. The experiment failed, but the droid became conscious. Macht called the droid EN-12 or EN (pronounced ee-an). EN saw Macht as his father, sharing Erwin's memories. Macht didn't see things the same way. When the Empire hunted Macht down, Macht sent EN off to go meet up with the rebel forces. He gave him the coordinates and sent him off with the survivors from the rebel garrison. Macht was captured by the empire, and EN felt guilty for running. Now, on Arda 1, EN is ordered to stay inside to avoid capture.

Beliefs
EN believes that the Jedi religion was what made the Republic great. He seeks to uphold their views on morality even though they are gone. The Empire is the antithesis of everything the Jedi stood for. And so, EN has sworn to fight the Empire to bring justice as the Jedi saw it back to the galaxy.
