Background
Iggssit was brought into the world in a much different way than most Trandoshans. Instead of devouring his clutchmates to establish himself as the dominant of his parent's children, Iggssit survived by chance. As the eggs incubated in their nest, an unusually cold winter swept through the land. The intense fluctuation in temperature killed his clutchmates, and would have killed him too had it not been for a timely intervention by his mother, Crassala. Crassala had discovered shortly after laying this clutch that she would be unable to have any more children, and she became determined to make sure her child would live. His father Isslo, however, was ashamed that his heir did not claim his birthright as was Trandoshan custom.
When Iggssit was barely a year old, a Jedi Seeker came from Coruscant. Knowing the Trandoshan's tenuous relationship with the Jedi Order, they sent one of their own, Jedi Master Krassk M’ikosh, in an attempt to sway his parents into allowing the boy to become a Jedi. Isslo was ready to give the boy away, still ashamed of the circumstances surrounding his birth. Crassala however refused, stating they would raise their son as a true Trandoshan.
As Iggssit aged, he began to display behavior that was not only uncommon among his species, but considered dishonorable as well. Iggssit showed himself to be a fantastic hunter, capable of tracking small animals through the forest before he was even fully capable of speech. However, Iggssit absolutely refused to kill the creatures he got his claws on. Instead, he often was discovered by his parents cooing over some small creature he had captured, establishing an emotional bond very quickly due to his natural empathy.
Isslo discouraged this behavior fervently, explaining to his son the concept of the Scorekeeper and the spiritual requirement of Jaggnath points, becoming upset when Iggssit would try to negotiate, insisting that perhaps Jaggnath points were earned for captures as well, instead of only kills, but Isslo would not hear of it.
When Iggssit was still coming into his own, not quite yet an adult, he experienced heartbreak when his beloved mother died. Realizing that her death meant that there was no one to reign his father in, Iggssit gathered his things and fled quietly in the night, not even leaving a note for his father to explain why he left, knowing it would be obvious.
He spent the next few months working odd engineer jobs, finding himself to be decent with mechanical devices. One night as he began to drink his sorrows away, he felt a tugging at his senses in a way he had felt before over the years. The last time it happened he had found a few of his neighbors torturing a small game animal in their hovel. Worried that another defenseless creature may be in trouble, Iggssit followed his senses through a nearby forest. Finding his instincts to be correct, he soon discovered a group of smugglers keeping an adolescent Kimogila caged up, prodding it with shock batons regularly and laughing maniacally to themselves.
In a rage, Iggssit attacked the group, taking out one of the men before the other four turned their batons on him. As he laid on the ground, feeling absolutely certain this would be his end, a hulking figure covered in furs emerged from the brush. As the figure collided with one of his attackers, the man flew into the side of a nearby air speeder with a sickening crunch. Without wasting any time, the figure swung a large club twice, striking each man in the head hard enough to cause both of their faces to explode into a red mist, lit by the nearby campfire. The final man didn't even attempt to fight hand to hand, simply drawing a blaster that was at his hip, but it was too late. The figure lunged forward, and with a loud roar he RIPPED the man's arm off at the shoulder. The man managed to get a brief horrified scream in before passing out either due to pain or blood loss.
As Iggssit watched through blurry vision and bloody eyes, the figure turned and step forward, his face now clear, Iggssit realized this figure was not covered in the furs of others, but his own! Standing in front of him was a fully grown (and quite tall) Wookiee male wearing a dark green tunic that ran down to his knees. Iggssit could now see the club he wielded was made of wroshyr, and he kept a traditional Wookiee bowcaster strapped to his back.
The Wookiee did not immediately acknowledge him, instead walking from being to being and placing restrainer cuffs on each of them, with the exception of the now armless final being who no longer seemed to be alive.
Finally, the Wookiee walked over to Iggssit and offered his hand in assistance, which Iggssit tentatively took, not getting any negative feelings from the Wookiee despite the differences between their species. They commandeered the nearby campfire that had been left vacant by the smugglers and the Wookiee introduced himself. He informed Iggssit that he was a Bounty Hunter named Wrrlinkyykk and this group were smugglers hired by King Prana to transport the Kimogila for his private collection. However they chose to run off with the creature and attempt to sell it to a black market collector, causing Prana to put out a bounty on their heads. Wrrlinkyykk, or Link as he told Iggssit to call him, stated he had watched Iggssit's attempt to save the beast and admitted that he felt touched, if not a bit confused, as he had never met a Trandoshan that wanted to save sentient creatures. Iggssit told Link that he had never met a Wookiee that saved Trandoshans, which made Link laugh in agreement. Iggssit explained his backstory to Link, who sat and listened to the young Trandoshan for awhile before speaking again.
Link advised Iggssit that the bounty on these men would keep him settled for months, but to make things fair he would Iggssit a fifth of the overall reward for the smuggler he managed to take out on his own. Or, if Iggssit wanted, Link would put his natural hunting abilities to work and take him under his wing. Iggssit accepted his offer, mentally smirking to himself thinking about how angry his father would be to see him training under a Wookie.
Over time, the duo became inseparable, with Link becoming a surrogate father that Iggssit always imagined. They honed his skills as a hunter, and Link encouraged Iggssit to learn more about mechanical devices so that he could work on their gear (and so the unlicensed hunter could be listed as an engineer in the crew manifest), and Iggssit kept Link from going too far when Link's well hidden anger would simmer past his breaking point on hunts or in cantinas when strangers would make snide comments about their Wookie/Trandoshan relationship.
One day, Link returned from a meeting with a bounty hunter guild representative and advised Iggssit, "Iggy" as Link had taken to calling him, that he would be putting his name forward to the guild as a potential candidate for guild membership. From that day, Link has prepped Iggy to be the best hunter he can be, ready to prove any doubters of either of them wrong.
Motivation
Mentor - Iggssit is very loyal to his mentor and surrogate father, Wrrlinkyykk, who has helped him hone his natural hunting skills into a profession that allows him to hunt only those deserving of punishment. He seeks to become a successful bounty hunter to bring pride to Wrrlinkyykk and to pay him back for setting him up in his career.
Ambition - Iggssit is determined to save up enough credits to someday purchase his own ship.
