Background
Nanoha Eldon lost her father to pirates at a young age, leaving her to grow up with her mother, as well as her older brother and sister. To avoid being a burden, she learned how to fight, and trained extensively so she could join the planetary militia when she was older, finding herself gravitating to flight sims in addition to conventional training and proving a decent hand behind the controls of a starfighter. However, when she was 15, she was forced to tone down her training, due to the discovery that she was overworking herself in order to grow.
When she turned 18, she joined the militia, and completed training in two years. She defended her home from several pirate attacks, but she also became an instructor for other militia recruits, mostly pilots... and finding herself quite good at it, too.
When the Clone Wars began, Nanoha fought a few battles near her home, which sided with the Republic, but she continued training other pilots, which she believed was her true calling.
When the Clone Wars ended, and her home became part of the new Galactic Empire, Nanoha became an instructor at the Imperial Academy. She taught many new fighter pilots, seeking to make them the best they could be. A lot of them even considered her a mother or sister figure.
As the years went by, more and more pilots passed through her tutelage. Many of them went into battle to subjugate Separatist Remnants or add new worlds to the Empire, and very few returned. Nanoha found herself grieving for their losses more and more, and she began questioning the Empire's strategy of simply throwing numbers at a problem to solve it, treating their troops as expendable.
Finally, two years before the battle of Yavin, Nanoha couldn't take how her students were treated as disposable cannon fodder any more, and she turned in her resignation, leaving the Imperial military. However, speaking out against Imperial methodology drew the ire of the Imperial Security Bureau, forcing Nanoha to flee, until she found her way into the Rebel Alliance. To best serve the cause, she became a flight instructor once more, and found herself glad that Alliance Command respected its pilots more than the Empire did. Hopefully now, her students will be able to stay alive longer...
Motivation
Drive/Subordinates - Nanoha has come to care about every single pilot she trains. She teaches them all she can, pushes them to increase their limits, and if they push themselves too hard (and she did the same when she was younger, so she knows the signs), she will scold them, and guide them back to where they should be. She cares for them as if they were her children, and grieves deeply whenever one is lost. This is why she eventually left the Empire, which always treats its pilots, and their fighters, as disposable.
Duties
Personnel (10 Points) - Nanoha's focus in life is not to be the best pilot she can, but the best teacher. Many soldiers pass through her extensive training courses, but only those who are truly ready for the front lines will pass the training.
