Background

Bodian the Rodian Custodian was actually Bod'Dkrodi-An, a respected mechanics student of the Rodia Drydock Academy. However, money was tight for his family and so he decided to get his tuition paid with a stint in the Imperial Navy, as a recruiter just happens to pass by.

As it turns out, "Maintenance Expert" translates to Janitor in normal-speak. So he mops floors now, even though he might be actually vastly overqualified for the job. To tide his misery over, he exploits ship crews he serves under, wheeling and dealing with things to get by in relative comfort.

Motivation

Pay off his debts and get out of this shitty job. Why are these recruitment contracts dated for two decades?
