Background
1. Zeven's force sensitivity was apparent at birth. Without training, he was only able to do simple tricks (out of the eyes of the Empire) until recently.
2. Zeven lacks confidence in his abilities, often hesitating when he should advance. His hesitation has caused several casualties, both on Fay-Ohm's vessel and in the Rebel Fleet. His fear of failure is debilitating at times.
3. Zeven served in the Rebel Alliance fleet as a "pathfinder pilot". When his force sensitivity was discovered by his commanding officer, he was reassigned to a post on Yavin 4. There, Zeven joined the New Jedi Order.
4. Zeven's grandfather was a pirate in the Outer Rim. Fay-Ohm Ta'em taught Zeven how to survive in a universe that would kill him. His grandfather was not a good man but Zeven owes his survive to him regardless.

Other Notes
Observation: I noticed that, for a character I said was closely affiliated with pirates, Zeven has no investment in Skulduggery. My guess to explain this is either; Zeven was a horrible student or Zeven had a position in his grandfather's care that didn't involve crime or lawbreaking. The first option is more interesting, to me, because it shows off some of this character's flaws. Did Zeven just not pay attention or did he not learn much because of something else? By extension, did Zeven start to flourish after he left his grandfather's care for the rebel fleet? What changed? I think this also means Zeven is more "Rebel" than "Pirate", but both have an impact on his upbringing...
