Jaerik grew up in a lower-class neighborhood of a core world city. His parents both held menial service jobs and had to work long hours to provide for the family. Jaerik spent most of his youth on a computer system of one kind or another, and when he learned about slicing he took to it like a fish takes to water. Jaerik left home when he turned 18 but he still sends home money when he has the cash to spare, and his parents have long since learned not to ask where the money came from.

Crime: Jaerik has always made his living obtaining data from computer systems for clients. When a couple of jobs went sideways on him Jaerik found himself on the run from the Empire. Having few options open to him Jaerik took shelter with the Rebel Alliance in exchange for his services as a slicer. Jaerik looks forward to a time when the Empire is nothing but a memory and he can disappear into the teeming masses of the galaxy to once more ply his trade unimpeded by government warrants.

Jaerik is a slim human in his early 30s. Just shy of six feet tall he only weighs 160 pounds. His medium length brown hair almost constantly hangs down into his eyes, resulting in his habit of running a hand back through his hair while working on anything of importance. His piercing gray eyes have a look of calculation that suggests that anyone who's gaze he meets is being sized up and categorized. Jaerik is a consummate introvert, preferring his computers to the company of any form of sentience. He also retains many of the traits one would expect from a criminal, including a contempt for authority. As his contempt often shows towards his appointed superiors he has not won many friends in the upper levels of the Rebel Alliance.
