Background
Wealthy background granted opportunities for travel and general knowledge, but lost it all gambling. All Vam Beblar has left is a ship she doesn't own or remember how to fly anymore. Her Skakoan heritage imparted enough mechanical knowledge on Vam to scrape together a living in black market repairs.
Motivation
Cause: The Weak / Charity: The character fights for the underdog, disliking bullies and totalitarianism. They'll put the interests of those in need before their own and may donate time or money to aid the less fortunate.
Obligations
Debt: The PC owes someone a great deal, whether in money, goods, or services. The character may owe this group or individual for loans used to pay for training, buy new equipment, or start a business. Paying off the debt may be difficult due to the sheer credits value in question, as a result of the constant accrual of interest that must be paid off, or because of both. The debt might even extend beyond financial obligation, especially if the PC also has a personal relationship with the lender.
Description
Vam is in her late 70s and has left much of her high-stakes gambling career behind her. After fleeing Skako and nearby systems (in a ship she bought with a loan and then lost in a bet but refused to give away) to escape the people she still owes money, Vam settled for a quieter life on the fringes of society using her Skakoan aptitude for mechanics to make a living doing black market repairs. In her prime she traveled all across the galaxy, and she won't hesitate to tell you about how things used to be or the gentlemen that kept her company, even if its not exactly true.
