Background

Roan is currently a private practice detective who performs various jobs and tasks for a living, but his true calling in life is to find the enigmatic 'Blackbird' who is a man or woman he believes is responsible for his accident two years prior. He has no memory of his life before he woke up in the hospital, but the nurses told him that he had been involved in a hit and run which left him as an amnesiac. The only clues he has is the signature of the man who brought him to the hospital (Blackbird) and his own identity scoured from his wallet:

What Roan doesn't know is that he wasn't merely involved in an accident; he had previously been an officer in the Galactic Empire and responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians. His original name was Yato Hann and he had been a scumbag from the slums of Coruscant instead of a simple moisture farmer from Aargonar. Yato had been a ruthless commander who stopped at nothing to root out rebels from among the civilian population by resorting to torture, blackmail, and ultimately slaughter to make ends meet.

Blackbird was the code name of his second in command, Lieutenant Jeke Stills, who joined the empire (and trained alongside Yato) to change the galaxy but was instead swept up in it's inherent corruption. After Yato had almost been killed by an explosion during a fatal ambush from dissidents in the outer rim, Jeke had the opportunity to kill the man who had twisted his good intentions into war crimes through lies and deceit. In a moment of mercy, Jeke spared his life and chose to let Yato live, believing his cruel nature stemmed from his childhood spent in the slums of Coruscant which was also greatly exacerbated from his time spent in the Galactic Empire. He could not atone for his crimes against life if he were to simply be killed.

Yato had his face and teeth reconstructed, a new identity created, his memories erased, and all traces (save for Jeke's knowledge) of his life prior destroyed. As the empire believes him and Jeke to be dead, neither are pursued for their desertion.

Obligations

Since I've got an obligation of 10, Roan has betrayal as his obligation. He feels wronged by whoever had robbed him of his previous life. Whether or not he is confronted with clues vital to his own backstory, he feels an obligation to help others who are also betrayed or wronged in some way. He tries not to let it be obvious.

Description

Roan is 5'10" with very short black hair (not far beyond shaved) and a bit of stubble. Brown eyes, white skinned, lazy expression, and bad posture are also part of his "rugged charm". He wears grey pants, black boots, and a ribbed leather jacket with extra pockets inside for concealing things and a collar he likes to keep turned up.

##### Skill Related Stuff #####
Smuggler Skills:
"Coordination, Deception, Knowledge (Underworld), Perception, Piloting (Space), Skulduggery, Streetwise, and Vigilance. He automatically gains one rank in four of these skills (of his choosing) without spending experience, and he receives a discount when he spends experience to purchase ranks in any of these skills." (Core, 80)
* The four skills I chose were Perception, Piloting (Space), Streetwise, and Vigilance. Roan is naturally perceptive and alert, as his job sometimes ties him to hostile and criminal elements. In order to stay one step ahead of a swift end, he stays on his toes. Streetwise is to gather information about his particular job and Piloting (Space) is for when he needs to escape or pursue, both being critical elements in his line of work.

Scoundrel Skills: "Charm, Cool, Deception, and Ranged (Light). If this is the character's starting Specialization, he may choose two of these skills and gain one free rank in each, without spending starting experience." (Core, 81)
* I chose Deception and Ranged (Light). Sometimes Roan has to fool nosy cops trying to snatch up his business or trick thugs from breaks his kneecaps. When being clever isn't enough, a gun tends to do the trick.

Human Racial Skill Bonus:
"Humans start the game with one rank in two different non-career skills of their choice. They still may not train these skills above rank 2 at character creation." (Core, 48)
* I used this to get a free first rank in Piloting (Planetary) and Stealth. Roan uses piloting to make quick escapes or pursue targets and stealth to scope out a situation before he acts/get away from fights he can't win.

##### Experience and Obligation #####
** I started off with 110 experience as a Human and the game has an Obligation of 10. Spent 60 to bring Cunning and Agility to 3, 40 to bring my career skills up to rank 2 from rank 1, and 10 to get two talents worth 5 apiece.

Boost dice is a D6, Ability is a D8, Skill is a D12. The higher you have, the better chance you have of getting success or even amazing success.
D10s are used for percentile. Roll two, one is tens and the other is ones. A 0 is the highest amount.

Roll Cool if you see a fight coming and Vigilance for an ambush.
