32-3U was made to be an all-terrain protocol droid, meaning they could function on desert, aquatic, ice, etc. planets just fine. However, while being built, there was a mistake which gave them the combat protocols and knowledge of a battle droid. Because of this, they were deemed too much of a possible threat to be a protocol droid, but too mild-mannered and weak to be a battle droid. Thus, they were sent to a scrapyard. Before being sent there, 32-3U was always referred to as the "botched" droid, so they believe that is their nickname as their programming told them it was common for droids to be given one as an extra designation.

32-3U just wants to help. They were programmed to be helpful and of use to others, and so that is their purpose. 32-3U is also desperate to be useful and fulfill that purpose because they were told that they were broken and unable to do so. They had no reason to exist if not to serve, and so they were abandoned. They never want that to happen again, and this causes them to act in a very people pleasing manner. In addition to that, they also don't handle rejection well because to them, being rejected means they're a failure who doesn't deserve to exist.

32-3U is a humanoid droid with plating over their entire body, no exposed wiring. Their paint was once a gleaming white, but has since mostly chipped off, with only a few flakes here and there still remaining. They're also 6 foot tall with no gendered programming.
