Motivation
Status: Seeks to make a name for himself and step out of the shadow of his father's fame as one of the best smugglers. Phineas feels it's time to make a name for himself. He'll do just about anything, try anything and say anything he can, within reason, to advance his name. He knows what it's like to walk into a room and have all heads turn. His dad was a rough and tough, smooth-talking charismatic smuggler. Everyone loved to hate him and hated to love him. He's fed up as being known as "Young Phineas" the son of Edward M. Hubert. He wants his own fame among the underworld elite.
Cause / Overthrow the empire: Fed up with the tyranny, Phineas dreams of one day sticking it to the man. He smuggles to not only make a name for himself but to play his part in screwing the empire. He watched his parents struggle throughout the years because of the Empires hold. Their family had no choice but to become proficient in smuggling. He feels a righteous cause inside of him to overthrow the empire, yet he has big dreams of being a bigshot roller. This conflict can sometimes get him in trouble.
Relationship / Former Nemesis: Attempting to reach too far beyond his ability with his ambition, Phineas had an early business partner. Both too ambitious and hard headed they found themselves always as rivals. One day the greed and ambition of his former business partner resulted in a betrayal and falling out. Phineas admires his friend and always seeks the best in othersa , the damage has been done. Phineas is on the run from a contract gone bad because of his friend's overreaching ambition.
Obligations
Bounty: For some, the character has a price on his head. This may be in the form of a legal warrant or a contract by criminals, collection agencies, or even someone who felt his honor violated in some way. What he did to ear this mark is up to his background, and the severity of his actions can be based on the size of his Obligation.
Story behind the bounty: Phineas and old pal Jonathan got in over their head. Both their egos too big with their dreams and ambitions equally being big, found themselves one day in way too over their head. Jonathan without consulting Phineas took on a job with one of the Hutt family members without consulting Phineas about it. Unbeknownst to Phineas, Jonathan thought he could do the deal himself and pocket a few extra creds before cutting Phineas in on the split. Things went south real quick. What seemed like an easy job turned out to be an overcomplicated plot the Hutts were coordinating in an effort to exploit a few entreprenuerial colonist who were trying ot influence the governing Empire respresentatives. Attempting to gain control, the Hutts had Jonathan try to steal a few key pieces of information to give the Hutts an edge to blackmail these aspiring reps. Things got out of hand and Jonathan was set up. The Hutts were testing the security more so than anything else and the blackmail from the documents would have been a bonus. Word got out that Young Phineas and Jonathan's crew were behind the theft. A bounty was out on their head from the colonist.
Phineas' father was furious when he found out and told Phineas if he was going to try that sort of risky business then he should go do it on his own terms and get out from under the family business name. Secretly his father was still proud of him even though this caused a lot of trouble.
Phineas has a sideline motivation to clear his name while trying to make a better name for himself. Unfortunately, damage was done to the relationship. Jonathan was furious that Phineas wouldn't back him up. Phineas felt betrayed by Jonathan for doing this. As a result there was a falling out between the two. Now these once best childhood friends are now bitter rivals.
Description
Phineas is young, in his early 20s, and too ambitious for his own good. He's about average height and build and has a schoolboy smile that's disarming. He's a little awkward at times socially. He's the kid who liked to play games and always had a "story" to tell his teachers. He was the typical "C" student who always asked "Why" and rarely took instructions too well. He hates being told what to do. He used to have a teacher who told him he's no good for a career in the Empire and wouldn't mount up to anything. He took it as a compliment as he hates the empire. He's rebellious, tries to stick up for the underdog and wants nothing more than to prove everyone around him that he's not that young kid who was the underachiever. He wasn't underachieving, he was bored with school. Now, he's on his own (or so he thinks). The truth is his father is always watching out for him in the shadows. He sometimes
