Background
Qel Kondo is the progeny of Pantoran traders who landed on Corellia. With their business severely hit by the onset of the Clone Wars, young Qel had an average standard of living but no luxuries. He managed to secure decent education via a CorSec scholarship for medicine, with the promise to join the corps once he concluded his studies.
Initially he excelled in his career and while he didn't ace any sharpshooting competitions, he was an excellent medic and decent in close-quarters combat. It seems that everything was going well for him, but his rise stagnated after a few promotions. As the Republic transitioned to the Empire, he was passed over due to his species and his parents' offwolrd assets were seized as a result of false accusations of funding the Rebel Alliance, tainting Qel by association.
Luckilly, a friendly captain offered Qel a way out before things would turn uglier: immediate honourable discharge with severance pay and the assurance that he would get away at least from Coronet City, if not Corellia altogether. Qel took it, and disillusioned with the Empire, he initially sought mercenary work in the Outer Rim and then directly joined a Rebel cell, assisting them as a battlefield doctor.
Now that the Empire has suffered a significant and demoralising defeat on Endor, perhaps it's time for Qel to turn another page in his book - or so he thinks...
Motivation
Ambition: Expertise
Central to Kondo's personality is the exhilaration he feels when he applies his skills and by usually being the smartest person in the room. A by-product of this is that he sometimes sees patients and cases as puzzles first, going through the motions in his bedside manner. He feels he gets his way from his stellar (in his opinion) abilities and loves the independence afforded to him in his past career due to his skills. As such, he intends to keep himself sharp about his craft and the best way to do so is to apply himself.
Obligations
- Addiction +15 (for 15 xp): Qel dips into his own stash and relishes the rush and euphoria from when he applies Stim Application to himself. He can be cranky when the meds just work, without the sense of edge.
