Background
Dhel Vorrin grew up aboard Duro Delta 12, an orbital shipyard located in the Duro System. The oldest of two children born to engineers employed by the Shipwrights' Guild, Dhel's childhood was moderately uneventful but nonetheless cherished by the young man. He has fond memories of staring out onto the drydocks while his parents repaired and modified all manner of starships, of exploring every hidden nook and cranny aboard the station with other kids, and getting into all manner of trouble underfoot of the thousands of spacers passing through Delta 12 on any given day.
As a kid, Dhel dreamed of plying the hyperlanes as his ancestors had done for thousands of years. The Force, evidently, had other plans. While his Midi-chlorian count was high enough to warrant being recorded on one of the Order's Kyber Memory Crystals, Dhel didn't begin manifesting force abilities until he was five (hitting his parents wallets rather hard with a series of expensive repairs). His parents were divided on the idea of sending him to the Jedi; his mother ardently supported the People's Inquest in their criticism of the Jedi, while his father fondly remembered his service with the Jedi during the Kol Huro Unrest.
With the start of the Clone Wars and the Shipwrights' Guild moving into full wartime production for the Republic, Dhel's mother ultimately won out and he was kept close at hand aboard Delta 12. In a tragic irony however this would place Dhel on the frontlines of Operation Durge's Lance, the Separatist campaign along the Corellian Trade Spine. Even after so many years Dhel remembers the sights and sounds of the Battle of Duro all too well, and he looks back at the months long occupation by the CIS as though it were a bad dream.
Unfortunately life after the war would prove near as hard. The nascent Galactic Empire seized what few natural resources remained in the Duro system, junked most of the Duros' famous shipbuilding infrastructure, and shipped the better part of the Duros' population out of system. Dhel's parents and sister were amongst those deported, but for fear of their force-sensitive son being taken by the Empire Dhel was placed into the care of a passing Jedi survivor named Suul and spirited into the Outer Rim.
That was near on 10 years ago. Dhel has wandered the edge of the Empire with Suul and his fellow students in that time, learning the ways of the Jedi and the Force. Dhel has proven a somewhat... difficult student in that regard. He lacks the commitment needed for such training, in addition to simply not having the sort of potential the Jedi has historically sought in its Initiates. In better days Dhel would likely never have become a Padawan, and instead been assigned to the Service Corps (given his wayfaring personality and demonstrated skill as a pilot, mechanic, and navigator). But those days are long past, and even those who would've once been considered least amongst the Jedi will have to step up in the battle against the Dark Side.

Description
Appearance: Dhel's physical appearance is rather typical of a young make Duros. He has smooth blue skin, red eyes, a lipless mouth, and a long thin noseless face. His frame is thin yet wiry. He has developed something of a spacer's fashion sense over the years - an affectation acquired after one too many news story from Nar Shaddaa - and he is rarely seen without his favoured heavy jacket.
Personality: Like most Duros, Dhel Vorrin is an adventurer at heart, finding the call of the great unknown all but irresistible. He's only ever been content when blazing a path into new territories, finding what's out there and bringing back news of it to others. Dhel believes in taking risks so that others don't have to, but nevertheless he enjoys the thrill of putting himself in the way of possible danger.
He lives by his own wits, though his restless nature has often landed him in dangerous situations. A reactionary, he acts first and thinks later. This sometimes saves him; other times, it gets him into trouble. Impatient and easily bored, Dhel never plans for the future beyond looking for the next adventure. He yearns for the life of the endless wanderer, the great explorer and adventurer with a love in every port who rarely stays in any one place for long.
