Born on the Hutt world of Sleheyron in 20 BBY, Komira Brethen discovered a knack for business early in life when her father placed her in charge or running the register for his grocery store. Within a year, she was handling the store's financials entirely, and by the end of the next the store had expanded to ten locations.

This brought her to the attention of the Hutt "businessman" Pova Desilijic Lika, who hired Komira as an accountant. However, when Pova's palace was bombed by rivals in 5 ABY, Komira was left jobless. She wound up on the moon of Nar Shaddaa, where she fell in with the Rebel pilot turned smuggler Janica Halcyon, becoming the quartermaster on Halcyon's ship, the Liberty. As Halcyon's business partner, Komira handles the logistics of Halcyon Transport Solutions, including procurement and the securing of contracts.
