Background
Down and Out
Gael was raised in a poor mining town on the planet Ibaar in the Outer Rim Territories. Prior to the official outbreak of the Galactic Civil War, Gael’s hometown was one of many settlements attacked and subjugated by the Hutt Cartel. Hundreds were enslaved and set to work in the mines, including Gael’s family. His earliest memories include his mother and father’s execution for suspected theft from the Hutt’s and the brutal beatings he suffered for weeks after his parent’s death. One particular incident involved a Hutt enforcer who carved the scar across Gael’s face because he “looked too pretty.” The experience generated a deep and passionate hatred of the Hutt’s and anyone who works for them.
Liberation came when the Empire arrived on Ibaar, and Gael vividly remembers Imperial Stormtroopers fighting and dying to purge the Hutt’s from the planet. This was his primary inspiration for enlisting in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps, where he was assigned the designation TK-9841.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time
After his training, TK-9841 was assigned to Squad Echo-Gamma of Pathfinder Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Regiment of the 251st Stormtrooper Legion. He primarily served as an Imperial Sharpshooter.
The 251st was assigned to the ISD Defiant, which was part of a patrol and enforcement flotilla in the Western Reaches. The Defiant responded to a suspected insurgent attack on the planet Eridani IV, and the Pathfinder Company was deployed to seek and destroy the insurgent’s base of operations. During the ensuing Battle of Eridani IV, the Pathfinder Company was apparently wiped out, with TK-9841 the only survivor.
He attempted to reestablish contact with his superior officers but to no avail and was subsequently forced to survive for several months on his own. Due to a combination of a clerical error and his inability to reestablish contact with the Defiant, TK-9841 was listed as Killed in Action.
Gael was eventually rescued by an Aldaaranian couple, Emile and Lorena Calendor, who were searching for a missing person on Eridani IV. Gael was brought onboard after rescuing the Calendor’s from hostile wildlife and helping them recover the missing person’s remains.
Gael attempted to rejoin the Imperial military several times, but so far his attempts have been thwarted by the Imperial Bureaucracy, which currently has more pressing demands.
Now considered dead by the Empire he served, Gael now sells himself out as a hired gun for mercenary companies, criminal organizations, and smuggler crews. After all, someone who knows their way around a blaster will always be in demand.

20 - Favor
Gael owes a personal favor to Emile and Lorena Calendor, who are merchants from Alderaan. The Calendor's had traveled to Eridani IV in order to recover the remains of Lorena's brother Aldar, who was forced to seek shelter on the planet as Imperial forces arrived to combat insurgents operating on Eridani IV.
The Calendor's were caught unaware by hostile wildlife while searching for Aldar, but were rescued by Gael. Together, they recovered Aldar's remains and the Calendor's helped Gael escape the planet.
Once he'd recovered from his survival on Eridani IV, the Calendor's helped Gael reestablish himself as a hired gun in the Outer Rim.
Fortunately, the Calendor's were not on Alderaan when the DS-1 Death Star destroyed the planet.
