Background
A genetic oddity-turned-omen greeted Saraas in life. The palest white skin and reddish-orange eyes, and the size of the child. Its mother nearly bled out in his birth. Salanao knew, though, that the rest of the urban primitive tribe would never accept this child, and that she must take this child away. The mother sobbed into the infant’s belly briefly, then watched as Salanao slipped away into the night.
Salanao whisked Saraas by swoop to Arratis Station where they escaped to orbit via the space elevator, then won passage with a Togruta captain named Kevo by providing certain…favors…. One voyage turned into several, into months, then years as the the two like-minded Togruta fell decidedly in love. Their complimentary skillsets benefit their ship and crew and Saraas grew up in a rough & tumble tramp freighter as the son of the captain.
He took to fisticuffs quickly, and a fascination with melee weapons followed shortly thereafter. By the time of his rite of passage, he was competent enough in combat as to usually cow opponents. A head taller than average and tautly-muscled, he was an essential part of the team.
A chance trip to Nubia at his rite of passage yielded unique tattoos marking the ritual. Eschewing blocky traditional designs, thin, curved tattoos flare and barb the entire surface of his body leaving a sinister prickly skeletal impression.
