Background
Middle Class struggles
K-8G9 was originally a security droid manufactured by Arakyd Industries in order to serve the Galactic Empire. She served as a guard at Dathomir Imperial Prison. She was fitted with a restraining bolt and was often tasked with execution of prisoners as part of a firing squad. By a twist of fate she was tasked with guarding the bounty hunter Kith Ban who for some reason took pity on the droid and removed her restraining bolt. The two seized a momentary opportunity to escape during a routine prisoner transport. Kith and K8 soon found themselves stranded in the vast Dathomir desert for several days. During this time K8 shielded kith from the harmful solar radiation with her body. This resulted in her distinctive sun bleached coloration and damaged hull. They were eventually able to escape the planet by enlisting as crewmen aboard a light freighter. At K8's request Kith was able to alter her personality drivers and voice modulator to be more feminine. Since then she has remained his devoted bodyguard and companion.
