Background

Kanga Jeggal was always reserved, with a much more limited social life than his twin brother, and his staunchly communal tribesfolk. The only thing keeping the generally taciturn boy from total social ostracization was Kanga’s impressive knack for hunting, especially his skill in traditional Mirialan hunting rituals, which entailed using slugthrowers instead of modern blasters and tracking down the planet’s dangerous predators. It was Kanga’s hunting abilities at such a young age, along with his twin’s social acumen, that convinced the tribespeople the twins were attuned to the Force. The twin’s limited studies in the Force were always of secondary importance to Kanga, who enjoyed few things beyond hunting well past his teens, and his prowess as a hunter almost overshadowed his status as a Force disciple. It was due to this that Kanga was crestfallen when the village elders told the twins they were to venture out into the galaxy and become closer to the Force, for “their own benefit,” but also so they could return and benefit the tribe with their new power. Kanga’s first instinct was to object and return to his idyllic life, yet his brother’s enthusiasm with the journey and the prospect of his brother being sent out alone into the galaxy convinced a reluctant Kanga to leave with him. Alas, that was how Kanga, a Mirialan convinced his life would start and end in the hunting grounds of his birthplace, packed his hunting rifle and combat knife, and headed out into the galaxy to add to his collection of tattoos with new life experiences and mistakes.

Motivation

The Cosmic Force: Kanga does believe in the Force, he truly does. But like the waves in the sea, it pushes the people and things floating on it, and despite anyone's kicking and swimming, the waves always push harder, and they always push to their own rhythm. Kanga and his brother should never have left Mirial, their role in life is not meant to take them to the far reaches of the galaxy, nor should the tribe leaders have ever sent them for such purposes. Kanga can only hope to survive and help his brother accomplish his " mission" so that both may return to their homeworld, and Kanga can return to his true calling in the hunting grounds.

Morality

Discipline -- Quiet. Silence. Calm. Kanga's life was ruled by discipline at all times, for an undisciplined hunter was just a warm corpse. What a fellow tribesman might see as rude staring after a funny story is just quiet appreciation, walking away from an insult is not cowardice but instead the realization that picking a fight with a drunk man only leads to loss. A calm mind and countenance is something most people need to consciously enforce and pursue, but for Kanga, it is merely his way of being.

Obstinance -- Voha is a fool for eagerly leaving the planet on his quest. The village elders are fools for sending him on it. Foreigners are fools when they look down to what they perceive to be the "rudimentary" traditions of Kanga's people. The galaxy is the way it is for a reason, and his brother, the tribe, and all outsiders are fools for seeing it otherwise and trying to change it. Voha is a tribesman. Foreigners are foreigners. Kanga is a hunter. Nothing can change any of that.
