Background
Lehmud hasn't had such a terrible life, for an alien in the New Order. The Empire needed the financial backing of the InterGalactic Banking Clan (IGBC), so the Muun were spared the government backed discrimination leveled at other species. Unlike many of his kind, Lehmud was not overtly ambitious. He certainly has goals in life, regarding his research, but he never quite got the idea of social climbing.
Lehmud excelled during academic testing and achieved multiple qualifications in science, engineering and mathematics. His inability to deal with his fellows, and social awkwardness, saw him fail to capitalise on his gifts though. The young Muun drifted into teaching, moving to <planet>, where he became a tutor for children of the wealthy elite to fund his own ongoing research at a local centre of learning.
Despite the official stance regarding the Muun, Lehmud has suffered personal attacks and discrimination from humans of the Empire in public. He began to question the role of the New Order after seeing how life was outside the IGBC. The personal discrimination did not trouble him, he'd never fit in with others anyway. But seeing how this system held back society and public scientific endeavour was an affront to his sensibilities.
It was completely by accident though that Lehmud managed to fall into association with a group of Rebels who needed some advanced technological expertise...
Motivation
Progress: The Empire's tight control of galactic commerce has made it hard for anyone outside the Imperial military to create or acquire new technology. Lehmud believes that the only way to bring a new era of progress to the galaxy is to remove the Emperor from power.
Lesser motivations include species rights, peace, and freedom.
Duties
Duty (0)
Tech Procurement: There is no more prolific or productive time for technological developments than during a war, and this one is no exception. Lehmud sees the true opportunity for Alliance victory in the hands of scientists, engineers, and technicians. Not only can they get the most performance from existing machines and resources, but they can design and develop new ships, weapons, medical techniques, and equipment that can provide the vital edge necessary to survive against the Empire's might. The way Lehmud sees it, stealing the best developments of the Empire is a crucial way to even the odds.
