Background
He goes by many names, but the most common among them is the Oracle. Not much is known about where he comes from or what he truly is, but the closest anyone can guess is that he's some half machine half organic hybrid. Whether it was by choice or by freak accident, nobody is quite sure. What people do know is he seems almost concerningly fixated on cybernetics and machinery as a whole, often praising the strength and advantages to machinery over the limitations of flesh.
However, despite his near-zealous beliefs, he seems to have awareness enough of other people's autonomy to respect their wishes of keeping limbs that otherwise should be replaced. While some describe being treated by him to be an arduous affair, it's difficult to argue with the results, which is part of how he wound up in the Rebellion to begin with. When questioned about his higher motivations, he simply remarks that the Empire is the greatest threat to the technological advancement in the galaxy, and if it means "relieving" them of equipment and other such resources, then he's more than happy to provide his assistance, just as long as he's able to expand his practices.
Motivation
Belief (Progressing access to technology)
From a young age Oracle was shown the advantages and wonders of cybernetics, and came to believe that all should have access to life-changing improvements to their ways of being. However, due to the rather oppressive rule imposed by the Empire, access and distribution of such incredible devices has been increasingly difficult, making for a perfect reason for him to join the Rebellion. While he acknowledges his status as a outlier in terms of his society and it's views, he aims to seek a happy middle ground while still progressing his own goals.
Duties
Tech Procurement: There is no more prolific or productive time for technological developments than during a war, and this one is no exception. This Player Character sees the true opportunity for Alliance victory in the hands of scientists, engineers, and technicians. Not only can they get the most performance from existing machines and resources. but they can design and develop new ships, weapons, medical techniques, and equipment that can provide the vital edge necessary to survive against the Empire's might. The way this PC sees it, stealing the best developments of the Empire is a crucial way to even the odds.
