Alema was born into the Janin Colony on a Mid-Rim word. It was a quiet and peaceful existence that did not suit the adventurous young woman. However, when adventure finally found her, it was not to her tastes. Raiders, sent by the vile and ambitious Noako the Hutt, attacked the colony in search of plunder and captives. Although Alema escaped from the attack, she fled from her homeworld as a teenager to strike out on her own in the galaxy...

Debt - When Alema first left the colony, she had almost nothing to her name. At first she survived on her wits and her guile, but eventually she got in over her head, and ended up in debt to a money-lender that she couldn't afford to repay. Now she struggles to pull together enough capital to liberate herself from her current debts.
