Background

Backstory:

Jem and Ran Bommbassa were making their way in the galaxy’s shipping lanes. Jem was an able mechanic, keeping their ship in repair while Ran piloted. Their families helped invest in their ship as a wedding gift to the pair, confident that their skills combined would lead to a profitable, exciting, and fulfilling life together. The two had a long working honeymoon on the space lanes, and soon Jem gave birth to their first son Murf while in hyperspace on 23 BBY. A daughter, Dalla, was born just 3 years later, followed by male twins Hal and Cal 5 years after that.

Just after the birth of the twins, the Bommbassas took a job delivering a large quantity of kavasa fruit from Corellia to the Outer Rim. The Bombbassas would never have taken the job if they knew who they were truly hired by (the Hutts) and what they were really shipping to the Outer Rim (Lumni-spice hidden in the fruit). They were law abiding people who preferred safe jobs more and more as their family grew.

After arriving at the delivery site, the cargo was opened and inspected by a group of Hutt enforcers. What they found would anger them and change the Bommbassa’s lives forever. Some of the lumni-spice, a rare fungus, had escaped the sealed capsules hidden within the kavasa and fed on the sweet fruit, blooming and losing potency, and ruining all of the fruit.

Only two things saved the Bommbassas that day. The gang enforcers didn’t feel like killing that many children, and they realized the only thing which might ease the Hutt’s ire was a nice gently-used Corellian ship. The thugs spared their lives, but claimed the ship as recompense for the ruined goods, stranding the family on the Outer Rim to the present day.

Ran soon found work as a small freight pilot in a trading hub, thanking the stars his family was still alive. Jem took up repair and mechanical work on the same vessels her husband piloted. They didn’t own their vessels anymore, but they were otherwise back to the same routine, minus the excitement of seeing the rest of the galaxy.

Murf missed their ship and travelling to new worlds but was forced to make the best of it. From the age of 10, in Corellian tradition, he spent much of his time co-piloting planetary and space vessels with his father Ran. It was hard work but he welcomed any chance to get away from their small, dusty, crowded home by spending time at the helm. There he also got the chance to hear his dad tell him stories about Corellia and life in the more civilized Core.

Despite his parent's real world experience with criminal elements, and discouraging Murf from getting involved with the flashy and exciting lifestyle of a gangster, Murf is pretty sure they’re just exaggerating and don’t know how naturally talented and capable he is. He was born in hyperspace, adventure and speed run in his Corellian veins!

Since Murf’s parents would never approve of any criminal activity or dangerous “adventuring”. That’s why he has to get out of that dusty hovel as soon as possible, and leave behind the story of his boring working class upbringing. He’s got a fresh new fit, a very gently-used Model 53 Quicktrigger, and a completely made-up backstory. He’s really only on this remote dustball to lay low from an Imperial bounty on his head for some heists he pulled on Corellia. “The credits? Yeah, I had to spend my last one just to get here quietly, but you know how it is, that’s the price of living that spacer life!”

Murf seeks being faster, whether that's by his own hand drawing a blaster faster, piloting a ship, or through high-tech implants.
