Background
Born on a backwater farming world in 10 BBY in the Unknown Regions, Jaa's parents were upper-middle class landowners. He had a fairly typical early childhood, though he often complained of disturbing dreams and strange voices that whispered of the future. Force Sensitivity wasn't exactly a known subject on his planet, even the system, and he was often shunned by other children. Jaa's father Joraah, a staunch Imperialist despite their galactic isolation, knew there was something different about his son. Something special. The man ingrained a strong culture of physical training and discipline into his only child, hoping he could attain something greater. Jaa spent most of his time with his family, and while Jaa was almost always the biggest kid in any group, once he really started to hit his growth spurt people took notice and treated him with a bit more cautious respect. In 2 ABY, Thrawn's Empire of the Hand arrived. In the midst of establishing themselves on the planet, the Grand Admiral's men were also searching for Force-Sensitive individuals to conscript into service. He was taken (and his family handsomely compensated with a brand-new estate on Thrawn's capital world), and training, or indoctrination if you prefer, began...
5 Years later, Jaa is a formidable force on the battlefield, though his youth and lack of experience can make him unpredictable, his physical gifts and willingness to take risks have caused certain powers and people to take notice of the young warrior, and are watching his career with great interest. And while he still has much to learn not only in general life, but the ways of The Force, most anyone would be wise not to stand in his way.
Motivation
Duty: Combat Victory, Support
Motivation: Belief, Religion/Philosophy
Jaa is a curious young man. He very much wants to be feared and respected not only for his ability as a warfighter, but also as a thinker. He seeks knowledge wherever he can find it, especially that of the esoteric and mystical, despite the ideology of Thrawn's secular philosophy dominating the faction. However, he is still a brash teenager and often ends up trying to 'sound' wiser than he really is. He also has a great aversion to defeat in any regard, and has a tendency to let his anger and agnst take over when in stressful situations. Hopefully he will continue to mature, and not allow himself to walk down a path of self-destruction...
Morality
Strengths: Curiosity, Pride
Weaknesses: Arrogance, Obsession
Tharen is a person who desires to exude power, but he isn't hopelessly ruthless. He has a bit of a soft spot for animals (though isn't above defending himself against dangerous fauna), and does believe that uniting the galaxy under grand Admiral Thrawn is the will of the force, not total destruction and domination.
Description
Jaa is still a young man at the age of 17, not even old enough to buy deathsticks, but his physical size and explosive athleticism are one of the main factors that have separated him from some of the others within the Imperial Adept Corps. Standing at roughly 6'3 and nearly 250lbs, he's a rare physical specimen. Not only incredibly strong, but surprisingly quick and athletic. This is a contributing factor to the perception that he sometimes appears older than he really is. Tharen has a fairly square head and large jaw, with somewhat small facial features. He possesses fair skin, short, bright blonde hair cut in a high-and-tight military style, and bright blue eyes (that are slowly turning yellow from the influence of the dark side). A surprisingly (for his age) thick mustache also adorns his face. He wears a loose black robe on top of specialized hevay durasteel armor that offers good full-body protection, topped off with an intimidating mask intended to strike fear in the hearts of enemies of the Empire.
