Background
Naf Tolly was the child of not one but two of the top research historians on Drall. For the Drallese, scholarship and historical writings are a major foundation in their culture. When Naf was born, it was assumed that he would be follow in his prestigious parents' footsteps. However, there was a major problem, and that was that Naf was unresponsive to stimuli from birth. His vital signs were within normal threshold, but he would not open his eyes. His concerned parents researched a myriad of medical diagnosis but without any success. They visited every medical facilty in the Corellian sector, and once even went to Coruscant to find help. In desperation, her parents contacted Drallese Healing Jedi, Manna Sei, who detected that the child was not in fact disabled by low cognitive function or physical disablity, but a sensitivity to the force. She began to work with the young child and slowly he began to open his eyes. She eventually became his mentor, taking him to the Jedi Temple in Coruscant. She trained him not only as a force using healer, but an expert doctor.
Motivation
Naf Tolly's main motivation in life is the pursuit of knowledge. Nothing is more enjoyable then being buried in holobooks or even the ancient paper bound contraptions of yesteryear. He loves to know and discover new things, and even though most Drallese avoid the "adventuring life", for him it is all he's ever known and he has discovered it is the best source of information.
Naf Tolly's 2nd motivation is the preservation of life. The person most respected in his life was his master, Manna Sei, healing Jedi. She taught him that every life is valued and that every living thing gives the Force its strength and power. He has put all of his effort into learning the healing arts, so even though he is not a powerful jedi, his force abilities complement his medical training.
Morality
Compassion vs. Fear
Naf is a very small sentient, and as a jedi has often been thrust into conflicts that he simply was just not ready for physically. Yet even at his size, his training compels him to seek out those who are wounded/helpless which creates a constant source of tension in his life.
Description
Naf is very small, even for a Drall at merely 1 meter tall. He is brown and white and would be considered very nondescript, especially to other Drallese.
Naf was actually one of the poorer performers among his peers in the Jedi. He is not much of a lightsaber aficionado, remained clumsy and graceless, and had to constantly keep his fear in check. The only thing that he has really thrived in was the areas of medicine and study. Naf has a photographic memory, which has been useful to remember many different facts/lore and even biological function. He feels like he is more scientist and less Jedi. He is still somewhat confused how he has reached this rank.
