Background
Through sheer luck (because it certainly wasn't skill), some B1 battle droids survived through the end of the Clone Wars. With no CIS left to issue orders or decommission them, the droids were left to wander. Most of those were picked off over the years, but one managed to continue, a long-range unit that now calls themself Bolt. Going on twenty years without a memory wipe, Bolt has developed skills their original 'brothers' lacked, and takes on jobs as a mercenary or bounty hunter to survive.
Motivation
Freedom: The reality of their core programming, and their general nature as a droid, looms over Bolt like a shadow. They seek to be free of their prime directives, and possibly to gain protection from things like droid mind wipes.
Obligations
Dutybound: Despite living a long (for a B1) life, and developing into a sentient person, Bolt is still bound by some core programming. Namely, that the Republic and Jedi are enemies, and the Confederacy of Independent Systems are their allies and masters. Even though none of these organizations technically exist anymore, any lasting fragments of them could invoke this programming, forcing Bolt to comply. (+10)
Description
Bolt has had many parts replaced, repaired, or altered over the years, and is now stronger than the assembly line B1 droids. The colors are mismatched, with various browns and greys overtaking the original sandy chassis. The shape is still unmistakably a B1 though, with that crescent-shaped head. They also wear a heavy, tattered cloak that goes down to their thighs, under which they hide their folding rifle.
