Background

Dr. Lyric Amare (they/she/he) is a Mirialan doctor. Born and raised on Mirial as an only child to middle class parents, they attended the Ione Balam School of Medicine, and finished at the top of their class. Having completed his education, it was naturally expected that he would put his talents to use in a hospital, or another scientific institute and build upon his burgeoning reputation as one of the most capable doctors of his generation. Instead, in the weeks after graduating, Lyric very quickly crumbled under the weight of these expectations, decided that she wanted to be literally anywhere that wasn’t Mirial, and impulsively signed on to be a ship doctor for the first crew that would take her.

Unfortunately for him, during the early days of their first voyage, Lyric began to realize that what they had actually signed up for was, in fact to, be the ship doctor for a criminal enterprise. Now feeling responsible for the people that they are technically contractually
obligated to care for, and fearing what might happen if they try to break that contract, Lyric has decided to quietly bide their time until they can figure a way out of the situation they’ve put themselves in. Also, they’re seemingly not killing anybody so surely whatever’s happening can’t be *that* bad…

Motivation

Wanderlust - Lyric has spent their entire life thus far on Mirial and the thought of being trapped there forever and never seeing or doing anything else makes them #freakout

- Lyric Amare would make a very good doctor, they probably *should* be a doctor, instead she ran away from all his responsibilities and joined a spaceship crew

Medicine checks:
On a successful check, the target recovers a number of wounds equal to the number of successes generated by the Medicine roll, and an amount of strain equal to the number of Advantages generated. Droids roll Mechanics instead of Medicine checks but the thresholds are the same. Each character may only receive one Medicine check per encounter.
- Current wounds = half or less of wound threshold - Easy (1 purple)
- Current wounds = more than half of wound threshold - Average (2 purple)
- Current wounds exceed wound threshold - Hard (3 purple)
- Recover critical injury - Critical Injury Severity Rating
