Background
Rogua was born to a small Gamorrean clan on the southern end of the Wugguh continent of Gamorr, his species’ home planet. As a typical Gamorrean he was raised to wage war with other clans and was well trained to do so. From a very young age though, he showed a great deal of discipline in battle. Instead of charging in recklessly at his enemies, like most young boars, he would wait for the enemy to come to him if his position gave him an advantage. If he found himself in a poor position to fight, he would look for higher ground and attack or defend from there. This caused him to survive much longer than most of his clan mates and brothers in combat. Rogua’s last living brother, Gorm, was captured by a rival clan one battle and it was years before they saw each other again. Eventually, he became the Warlord of his small clan and his wife the Clan Matron. They had many children and their clan prospered through the years of traditional Gamorrean conflict.
One year, the small forest country in which Ragua’s clan lived had been consolidated into just three clans. The largest and strongest clan was the North clan, with almost 1,000 boars in its army. Rogua’s clan was the East clan, and his army was less than half the size of the North clan’s army. The West clan was larger than Rogua’s clan, but lost more battles than they won. During a skirmish near the border between the East and the West, Rogua ordered his men to stop fighting. He moved to the front of the line and stopped facing the West clan’s Warlord. After staring at each other for several long moments, Rogua recognized his long lost brother, Gorm. The brothers both threw back their heads in laughter at the strange coincidence on the battlefield and embraced each other, dropping their battle axes in a sign of ‘peace’. Rogua took his brother Gorm and his men back to their fortress in the East and the two plotted to take over the land to the North. Together, their armies matched the size of the North clan, but the two clever Gamorreans decided on a pincer movement that would confuse and destroy their mutual enemy.
A few weeks later, they executed their plan flawlessly, taking the land to the North and destroying their enemy’s army. They split the spoils of war evenly between the East and the West and returned to their homes. As soon as Rogua returned to his land though, he discovered that Gorm had double crossed him and had captured the his clan’s fortress while they were campaigning against the North. Outraged, he tried to take back his fortress in a bloody battle that he eventually lost. Defeated, Rogua left the forest country of the south, army less and clan less. He wandered the planet in sorrow at his loss until he made it to the ‘capital’ city of Citadel. The head Council of Matrons was holding a grand meeting at the time and Gamorrean recruiters could be found everywhere offering young boars a chance to join a mercenary group and travel off planet to bring war among the stars.
Rogua decided then and there that he would get back at Gorm for destroying his life and stealing his clan. As luck would have it, he ran into his traitorous brother in Citadel soon after he arrived. Apparently, an older rival boar, named Warkog, in the West clan had been planning on taking over as clan Warlord from Gorm. Warkog defeated him in one-on-one hand-to-hand combat as soon as Gorm had returned from the capturing the East clan’s fortress. So, the double crosser was double crossed himself, left as clan less as he had left his brother. Rogua went into a fit of rage and attacked his brother in the streets as soon as he saw him. Gorm eventually was able to fight him off long enough to explain what happened to him, but Rogua was still not willing to forgive his brother. Gorm still had a small band of boars loyal to him that had followed him from the South. Gorm told Rogua that he was going to buy a ship and travel off world with his men to become mercenaries. Gorm offered his younger brother a chance to join them and fight for him among the stars. Rogua refused, though, and stormed away.
Although that was the last time he saw Gorm, his hatred for his brother is still strong and he has resolved to kill him some day, even if it’s the last thing he does. Rogua immediately went and found one of the mercenary recruiters and signed up to work for some Hutt in Nal Hutta. Even though it was his first time off planet, he was eager to experience new forms of combat and see what the rest of the galaxy had to offer as far as weapons and opportunities to fight. Eventually, he will want to hunt down his brother and kill him, but he is disciplined and patient enough to wait for the right opportunity to do so.
Motivation
Conflict – Best in the Field – Rogua strives to be the best combatant on the battlefield. He will do whatever it takes to prove that he can take on anyone in a fight.
Ambition – Revenge – Rogua’s desire to seek revenge on his brother Gorm drives him to continue to improve himself. He will do his best to improve his combat abilities, acquire better equipment for war, and if necessary make allies to help him some day take on Gorms band of mercenaries.
Obligations
Betrayal (10) – Rogua’s brother, Gorm, betrayed him and stole his land and his clan back on Gamorr some time ago. Gorm is now roaming the galaxy with his own band of Gamorrean mercenaries, and Rogua plans on killing him some day for what he did to him.
Favor (10) – Rogua is grateful to his Hutt benefactor who has provided better weapons and armor than what he had back on Gamorr, as well as the opportunity to fight in new and exciting places. He will do what he can to repay this favor.
Description
Rogua is a large being, even by Gamorrean standards. He stands over six and a half feet tall and weighs over 300 pounds. He has a strong muscular frame covered in layers of fat, but is surprisingly agile for his size. He moves quickly on the battlefield and is deadly with his vibro-axe, which he carries with him wherever he goes. He also has an oversized slugthrower rifle slung across his back. He will typically use it to attack from a distance as he closes with his enemies and then switches to his axe when he is close enough to swing at them with it.
He has a dark sense of humor after his years of waging war on his home planet and scares most other beings around him just with his presence, whether he is trying to intimidate them or not. He is a team player and understands the value of working with others, but is cautious to avoid situations in which he can be betrayed again, like he was with his brother Gorm. He is not very intelligent by galactic standards and is averse to using new technology that is not a weapon, but he does have a good deal of common sense and knows when to avoid putting himself in unnecessary danger.
