Background

Colonial lone survivor
You relocated from Shill with your family as a child to establish a new colony, your father was a scout who taught you the tricks of the trade. Your colony was hit by disaster and cut off from your species. In the end, at the age of 18, a rogue trader intercepts your distress beacon and agrees to take you back to the home world.
Arrival at Shili – Social outcast
You are initially welcomed by the tribe of your ancestors, however, your penchant for independent thought and expression makes you estranged to the tribe. As your personality, hardened by the deprivations of the colony disaster exceed even the tribe’s ability to empathise, you feel increasingly isolated. In desperate bid to fit in and prove yourself, you volunteer to lead a hunting party to go after the infamous Red Akul. The tribe elders agree and instruct three others to accompany you to the last known sighting/nest on the lowlands. You arrange a rendezvous point as you all scout along your respective paths but you are abandoned by your fellow hunters out of spite. Determined not to fail, you push on alone and kill the Red Akul. It leaves its mark (a horrific scar on your left arm and shoulder blade).
You drag the head back to the village, lay it at your elders feet and outline in no uncertain terms what you think of their cowardly hunters. A headdress is made, you don it and leave on the same ship that bought you here: The rogue trader.
A dead end and new beginning.
Understanding your predicament, he takes you to the nearby colony of Kiros. You arrive in time to witness your new start burnt to the ground by imperial war machines. Feeling utter despair and fury you pick up a rifle to hunt some Imperials. You encounter Q, who was too late to rescue his Rebel contacts at the colony, and seeing your disposition and capability, he recruits you.
