Vashu was born in the Togruta pacifist colony on the planet Kiros. Her parents were both artists and first generation colonists; they left the Togruta homeworld of Shili once they realized they were expecting, as they did not want to raise their child in their increasingly brutal tribe. As a young child, Vashu survived a time of enslavement by the Zygerrians. Her parents told her that their suffering was a result of the colony's governor abandoning pacifism by getting involved in the war by negotiating with the Separatists, but Vashu remembers her liberation came through violence in the service of justice. The image of a young Togruta padawan liberating her people alongside human Jedi knights and clones never left her. She decided that when peace and negotiation fail, she wouldn't hesitate to take up arms to defend those who cannot protect themselves.

Vashu's education on Kiros was in political leadership, diplomacy, history, and the arts. Even as a student, she recognized the widespread oppression of nonhumans under the Empire. She organized her classmates, educating and radicalizing them up to the point of civil disobedience, but as pacifists they could just lay down and be slaughtered by imperial soldiers who felt neither shame nor disgust when Togruta blood ran in the streets. Vashu had to abandon her efforts at nonviolent resistance, finally giving in to her parents' wishes for a quieter life, patience, and bettering her colony through reform rather than revolution.

As a junior member of the diplomatic corps representing her colony, Vashu received an encoded transmission from a mysterious Fulcrum. She recognized the iconography as part of the markings of her childhood hero and answered the call to join the rebel alliance. Fulcrum's intelligence network would have preferred she remain an embedded asset within the diplomatic corps, but after a few missions, Vashu took an opportunity to follow her contact to a rebel base. She enlisted under a false name, completed basic training, and tracked down the original Fulcrum--only then revealing her identity and proving her value as a member of the Rebel Alliance's covert network.

In addition to gathering intelligence, Vashu's secondary mission is to recruit assets and rebels, especially aliens who will live and die for a more inclusive future for all species.

Togruta, above average height, waist-length lekku and montrals that curve inwards and then out. Pastel aqua skin, dark green lekku and montrals with a pattern of stripes that cross. Her white stripes have been tatooed with a golden ink, her artist-mother's handiwork and designed to improve her presence and charm in diplomatic negotiations. Her white facial markings are delicate crescents arcing from her temples to her cheek and meeting to cross the bridge of her nose.
