Background
Valso'Ran'Nurudo, or Soranu, was born into modest nobility in the depths of the Chiss homeworld of Cisila. At an early age the signs of her force sensitivity were distinguished by an Ascendancy mandated test designed to secretly determine which young chiss experienced a natural phenomenon among their species they refereed to as Third Sight. This third sight was an expression of force sensitivity that occurred most commonly in young Chiss females expressed as a minor precognition that best lead itself to the ability to plot accurate hyperspace lanes on the fly with out the use of a nav computer. This was the secret to Ascendancy's ability to maintain its territory in the ever volatile and shifting nebulas of the Unknown Space. Once discovered Soranu was taken from her family to an off world military academe to be trained to serve in her new duty to the Ascendancy. She took her misplacement in stride and adjusted to her fate quite quickly in fact. She seemed to possess a competitive nature and ruthlessness that many of her fellow young chiss did not, and often expressed this ruthlessness in brutal fashion in close quarters combat sparing and military exercise, which earned her a bit of early infamy but also served to impress the Admirals of House Nurudo. She was quick to earn her place into the House and eventually earn the rank of captain in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force.
Most of her early missions in the CEDF revolved around the defense of Ascendancy mining colonies from various pirate threats. One particular outing however held an odd set of circumstances as when arriving at the distant asteroid mine it appeared that the facility was not under attack from an outside force but from its own personnel. After investigation it appeared the mine droids had dug into a hidden chamber built into the mine that housed a strange altar of sorts with what appears to be a small red crystalline pyramid atop it. This event was cataloged by the foreman in his personal logs a week prior to Soranu's arrival but was for some reason never reported to House Inrokini officials, neither was whatever befell the mining colony after the chambers discovery. What was discovered by Soranu and her team upon arrival was pair of traumatized and malnourished chiss hiding in a sealed utility closet and a few dead chiss and a lot of damaged Inrokini property. The traumatized chiss spoke of the discovery of the object in the chamber and how one the other overseers of the facility who handled the object seemed to progressively go mad over the course of a few days growing more aggressive by the day and eventually resorted to apparently murdering the other workers in the facility before offing himself. The pair apparently survived by welding themselves inside the utility closet, to which they were unable to escape after the fact until Soranu's team arrived.
Soranu immediately upon arrival felt a sensation calling out to her from the mines depths. The longer she stayed the more solid this sensation came to be. The echos of deep darkness stored there reached out for her, but unlike the weak willed miner which likely was driven mad by the tug of the dark side she was able to hear it more clearly. She eventually began to understand whispers as she followed the mineshafts down with her team towards the object, a fact she kept to herself as they progressed. "in the shadows there is great power" it repeated. She found the phenomenon fascinating, but as they went she began to pour over the eventual outcomes of this, she would never get a chance to study this strange occurrence. She was a soldier, she would at best lay eyes upon this supposed object for some brief time before turning it over to her superiors. A fact she could not stomach. The team eventually made it to the chamber which appeared to be a temple of some sort and retrieved the glowing red pyramid. Soranu then decided that this object was to stay hers and resigned to kill her team to maintain it. She used a piece of mining equipment still located in the mine to collapse a tunnel trapping much of her team inside, gunning down what survives made it out of the collapse. From then she caused a meltdown at the stations core resulting in a large explosion to cover her tracks then returned to CEDF with the story of a pirate attack that killed her team, of course keeping the sith holocron she had discovered a secret. CEDF did an investigation and while her story seemed dubious after inspection of the mining site. However, there was no direct evidence of her crimes to be found. Following the incident she was transferred out of the CEDF and into the service of the Ascendancy's forced allies, the Empire. There she served as a lieutenant on the bridge of an ISD until the end of the war. She preformed her service there dutifully, not that she had much a choice in the matter. But she secretly kept her prized posetion, the holocron, close. Discreetly she took every opportunity to sit and listen and meditate upon the strange whispers and visions it emitted. Slowly but surly she gleaned the sith teachings the object had to offer but still yet there was much she couldn't understand with the proper guidance of a living teacher or at least more information. But for the time, and under the close scrutiny of her xenophobic imperial host, this was all she had.
In the midst of the chaos caused by the loss of power structure after the battle of Endor Soranu finally found an opening to freedom. She stole a transport and fled, beginning her search for knowledge of the force...
