Background
Born into obscurity Tavus found himself to be one face among millions in the dense populace of Coruscant. As an orphan he learned quickly that being self-reliant, calculating, and unattached was his best method of surviving. It was with some luck that Master Ki'vu found him doing just that, surviving while running the streets with a gang of children.
Master Ki'vu recognized Tavus' potential and immediately brought him to the Temple. With careful guidance and coaching the young boy eventually accepted his gifts as a connection to the Force and found further strength in that increased independence. Having watched him from a Youngling it was no question that Master Ki'vu took him as his Padawn to further his training.

A harsh childhood forced Tavus to be self-reliant and his connection to the Force has shown him even greater strength in being independent. He seeks knowledge and understanding to be as best prepared as he can and has been drawn to studying many forms of using the Force to aid him.
Weakness: Coldness
Being unattached has been tempered somewhat by Master Ki'vus influence, but Tavus still struggles with openly evaluating the worth of others. If someone cannot help themselves how can they grow if a task is done for them? Master Ki'vus stresses the value of compassion, within limits, and Tavus has been working on not only allowing others to aid *him* but taking time to assist others.
