As far as he can remember he was always on the sublevels of Coruscant, though any holovids of more natural environments pulled at a half remembered home. Luckily he found a partner in Zizzy that could butter marks up as fast as he could lie and repair as well as he moved. Despite the Twi'lek's impulse control issues, eventually through bouts of petty crime they managed to acquire a ship. Years later Bari has managed to gain something of a reputation in Hutt space as a smuggler, so long as he's either given enough credits or how hot the cargo is upfront. He is known as a flashy space-jockey and criminal, though more decent than most would think.

Though it all he's kept Zizzy out of more trouble than he's put her in, though she can a problem. They've lost fortunes to each other to the point they don't keep track anymore, but wouldn't have it any other way. Though, he's made a few enemies along the way, most ended up dead, but a transdoshian bounty hunter by the name of Brozzmod Sissk just won't stay down. Until recently he's been able to stay ahead of the transdoshian, that is until Sissk finally caught up with him, when the dust cleared his ship was in imperial custody, either sold off or impounded.

Now down on his luck again, the best course of action he can think of is joining the rebellion. Partly for freedom, as well as profit and the hope of getting his ship back from the imperials or whatever collaborator it may have gone to after being captured.
