Background
Repeatedly in simulations during his lifetime of training on Kamino, "Aught" demonstrated an intense attachment to his squadmates and a natural devotion to protecting them at all costs. CT-0818 dedication to his squadmates' preservation has also translated into a troublesome tendency to put too much of the burden on himself, either doubting other troopers' fitness for their chosen role in a mission or taking point even past the point where has been compromised. Self-sacrifice is expected of clones, but not overly encouraged.
During the Battle of Geonosis, Aught was left distraught by the casualty rate within his squad, platoon, and company. In part, he feels that he has failed the troopers who didn't return from battle, and he vows to never do so again.
Motivation
Belief - Justice: Aught believes intensely in right and wrong. He sees the Separatist cause as inherently wrong and their oppression as evil. In his eyes, when the Separatists left the Republic and made war upon it, they renounced any sense of rightness in their cause. The inclusion of the Jedi as commanders of the GAR only reinforces in Aught's mind that he is on the side of justice. Every battle droid that he destroys and every world that he helps liberate or protect is another victory for justice in the galaxy.
Duties
Personnel (10): When it comes to the troopers in Aught's squad, the trooper casts a critical eye over their combat readiness, ranging from informally inspecting their equipment to ensuring that the troopers are in a proper mental state. Aught has sworn to never leave a squadmate behind.
Description
Aught is not prone to personal flair. Instead, he is methodical in his approach to fighting and his preferred tactics. He does not often subscribe to wild gambits, though he understands that battle is inherently a gamble that must sometimes be entered if the risk is right. Aught does his best to seek out new skills that can strengthen his ability to contribute to his squad's success, including researching tactics in his spare time. Despite a methodical, careful nature and an occasionally overly critical mindset, Aught is supremely confident and outgoing with his fellow clones, cheerful and optimistic in a way that a lifetime of training and the crucible of battle have yet to diminish.
