Kohl is a descendent of a proud line of hunters and warriors from Kashyyyk. During the Clone Wars, his father was a general and responsible for rallying Wookiees to defend coastal villages from an onslaught of droids. With the deaths of General Grievous and Count Dooku, the clone armies promptly turned on the Wookiees, enslaving or exterminating them all. Kohl's parents placed him as a baby in the care of a small rebellion faction responsible for getting refugees off-world. He ended up on Tatooine and as he matured he found himself in demand as a strong manual laborer and hired muscle. He found that he inherited his father's prowess for combat.

Overthrow the Empire: Kohl sympathizes with the Rebellion and hates the Empire. His loss of his parents and his homeworld have been the tipping point and he will take any chance he can get to aid the Rebellion.

Oath: As a teenager, Kohl was accosted by a group of thugs who sought to capture the Wookiee and sell him into slavery. Ayden Starkiller intervened and killed the would be slavers and freed Kohl. Kohl felt obligated to swear a Life Debt to Ayden and has been his companion ever since. While the pair have remained friends, Ayden often gets the pair into situations Kohl would rather avoid.

Kohl is large even for a Wookiee. This is thanks in part to his warrior caste heritage. Standing around 8 feet tall, Kohl is muscular, dark and intimidating. Most creatures are intimidated just by his sight, and if not, his growls are enough to send most threats scattering. Kohl is often seen carrying a large axe and his father's bowcaster, the only memento of his family.
