Background
Laborer: Gerytt was born in the working district of Zolan, son to a pair of droid technicians. Although he was taken to the Jedi temple not much older than a toddler, he has vague memories of his time among the craftsmen and workers of that community, and is often drawn to the plights of the common worker.
Motivation
Ambition (Survival): Currently Gerytt is focused on simply surviving and staying "under the radar" - as a former student of the Jedi, he fears the Empire may be looking for him. This is largely untrue - the Empire doesn't really know about him. However, should they learn...
Injustice (Oppression): Over the years, with the fall of the Republic, Gerytt has seen not only the Empire extend its oppressive reach, but criminals and crime lords have become emboldened. He has begun to identify with those who are suffering under these regimes...
Morality
Malleability: Gerytt has spent many years on the Outer Rim amongst the downtrodden and criminal element. While he still clings to many of the old laws of the Jedi and Republic, he also has become aware of the realities of life on the fringe.
Guardedness: The aftermath of the Jedi purge, the double-faced nature of some of the more criminally-minded inhabitants of the Outer Rim, and the fact some people will sell out others just to survive has jaded Gerytt to the point that at times, he worries about trusting others - even those who may need his trust the most.
Description
In his natural form, Gerytt is a slender average Clawdite with light green skin and pale blue eyes. In many ways, he's quite non-descript for his race.
Currently, however, Gerytt has taken the form of a Chiss. Having spent some time on Tatooine, he's colored his skin a dark blue, and his eyes are a deep almost-blood red. Because of the heat and sand, he's styled his hair to be short and even darker than his skin. So as to not attract the amorous attentions of others, he has crafted himself to be slightly "pudgier" than the average Chiss, with more rounded features and not as "sculpted" as they are known to be. He is sometimes mistaken for a Pantoran - which is fine, as he really doesn't want anyone to know who he is.

Languages: Basic, Zolanese, Chiss
Gerytt Kelso was born to Clawdite technicians on his homeworld of Zolan. Early in his life, a Jedi Knight named Palierdil was on Zolan in search of members of that race to use in a clandestine operation, when he was drawn to the young toddler, detecting the potential for force use. Palierdil realized the potential for a shapeshifting jedi, particularly among as a Sentinel such as himself where his natural physical abilities could be enhanced and supported by the Force. Gerytt's parents, in turn, while sad that their son was to leave them, were quite proud that he should have a better life than they.
It was a few years before he would become a full Padawan that the Jedi Purge occurred. Gerytt's training had progressed to the point that he had some minor skill in the Force - particularly in the manipulation of machinery. Most likely, this was due to his exposure to his parents skills at a young age. During the attack of the training facility, Palierdil was able to help Gerytt escape, as well as purge his identity from the data systems. Using primarily his natural Clawdite skills, Gerytt worked his way to the Outer Rim - intent on hiding after the purge and simply surviving. He slowly developed real skills as a technician (augmented by the Force), and for years got by as a mechanic for hire. But as he has gotten older, he has found it harder to ignore the things that are happening around him, and the general lawlessness and oppression that is growing since the rising of the Empire. Plus, he has begun to feel the pull of the Force, and the training lightsaber that he has hidden in his personal effects has weighed upon his mind, as of late...
