Background
Navik is an ex-Imperial sniper who has recently gone AWOL from their service after learning about some of their more despicable acts.
Navik grew up on Rodia in the Chekkoo Enclave. While he grew up in a different clan, he was a childhood friend of members of the Chekkoo Clan, including Taneetch Soonta and Laneet Chekkoo. Growing up, he would hear stories of Taneetch's uncle, Huulik, a Rodian Jedi Master. While many of those stories were probably fiction created by young family members who idolized him, they still had an impact on a young Navik.
A very nimble teen, his marksmanship aptitude was noticed by recruiters for the future Galactic Empire and he was quickly indoctrinated into their service. A natural deadeye marksman, he became an important asset in disposing of agitators and other problem people from afar.
However, a run-in with an former Inquisitor (Grimshaw) led to Navik's revelation about Order 66's true purpose. With the truth of that Order revealed, the truth of the death of Navik's childhood idol and uncle of his friends was also revealed and it shook the young Rodian to the core. He began to question the goals and actions of the Empire. He made a trip home under the guise of visiting Utheel Outfitters for new gear. He was able to talk to his old friends and saw their disdain for the Empire's control of their planet. Taneetch even took him to the secret mausoleum where Huulik was interred so he could pay respects.
Returning to service, despite being shaken, his next target was that very same Inquisitor that had revealed the truth to him. That was the final straw. He did track down that former Inquisitor, but instead of killing him, he let him know of the contract on his life and asked to join him. Since then, they've been allies, often working together on bounties, while trying to stay a step ahead of the next assassin that will be sent to hunt down the deserters.
Motivation
Ambition - Freedom - Navik may be angry at the Empire for their many evils, but deep down, he just wants to be free from being hunted by them so he can move on to the next stage of his life, whatever that may be. He looks forward to the day he doesn't have to look over his shoulder, and is hopeful that the destruction of the second Death Star will give him that freedom.
Causes - Overthrow the Empire - The Empire may have suffered a great defeat and the Emperor may be dead, but they still have tendrils in many parts of the galaxy and they're not gone. They lied to Navik and turned him into a weapon that they were happy to use for their evil purposes and he'd like nothing better than to put the detritus of the Empire that remains into his sights.
Obligations
Bounty - 10 Pts: The Empire has a price on Navik's head for desertion and there are surely more than a few Bounty Hunters that have taken that job.
Debt - 5 Pts: Upon going AWOL, Navik was forced to take on a debt with someone in order to pay for new identity papers and passage to the Outer Rim. That debt will need to be paid and soon.
Family - 5 Pts: While most of his family is no longer on Rodia, Navik is still close with the members of the Chekkoo Clan that he grew up with. That Clan also resisted Empire rule of the planet, and learning of Navik's connection to them would be another strike against them that could encourage revenge from the remaining remnants of the Empire.
