Background
REM-00 is a prototype droid, designed and built by Holowan Mechanicals, before the start of the Clone Wars. Sturdily constructed out of easily replaceable parts, REM-00 was little more than the test bed for other projects that the company had in the works. Memory wipes and refits were common early on in REM's existence, however as the war raged on and increased demand saw deadlines tighten, often times equipment or subsystems were simply left attached to REM, this would come to a head when Holowan was developing its IG-100 series adaptive droid brain. The prototype system, unrefined as it was, integrated many of the subsystems that were left in REM into a single personality runtime. Luckily for Holowan REM-00 was an amicable droid, and the droid's helpful personality was immensely useful for refining the IG-100 droid brain. Holowan Mechanicals would use REM as a test bed for many years before deactivating REM and sending the droid to storage.
Years later, after the formation of the Empire, REM was acquired by the Muun curio collector Kam Frell. The droid, who had developed a strong personality at this point, had no intentions of becoming a show piece, and with the aid of a faulty restraining bolt had managed to make it off of Munnilist in one piece. From there, using a shell company, REM underwent an entire rebuild, and rented herself out as a security droid, existing from job to job and funneling credits to her own ends.
Motivation
Ambition - Pefection : REM-00 sees herself as the inheritor of Holowan's legacy, and seeks out equipment and components that she believes would make her superior to other droids.
Obligations
Bounty - Magnitude 15 : The collector Kam Frell has an open bounty for the return of REM-00.
Debt - Magnitude 15 : REM-00 owes the technician Garn Drakel a hefty sum for her total refit.
Description
From top to bottom REM-00 measures about 2.5 meters tall give or take. The droid is humanoid from the head to the waist, with two arms. REM-00's locomotion system is comprised of four equally spaced, ending in omni-directional wheels allowing her to "skate" across surfaces, additionally the wheels can be retracted and foot clamps can be deployed for better stability or allow REM-00 to ambulate across soft, or uneven surfaces. REM-00's chassis post refit is characterized by numerous thick, and overlapping armor plates, although mostly functional many design elements were clearly aesthetic choices. Finally REM-00 is finished in an ivory, gray and orange color scheme.
