This only works, however, if the functioning device is at least the same size and technological level as the device being repaired (it's impossible to repair a starship with a blaster pistol).

Background

Born on Coruscant, in the mid-levels, Hona Jezeks worked in the shipping co-op her family owned with a series of other Duros families.

She dreamed of living a life outside of the shipping company and maybe fly fighters. Once she became aware of the true nature of the Empire, she thought her dreams were dead.

Then one of the co-ops convoys were attacked by pirates in the mid-rim and saved by Alliance personnel.

Having seen them in action, Hona realized that maybe she could still fly fighters for people who wanted to help.

And do some good in the meantime.

Space Superiority: As the Combat Victory-driven PC feels about troop conflicts, so this Player Character feels about ship-to-ship combat and naval engagements. To him, the war will ultimately be decided in the stars, and what the Alliance
lacks in sheer numbers, it more than makes up for in the quality and tenacity of its pilots. Every single space battle is an opportunity to show the rest of the galaxy that the Alliance not only can win the war, but is destined to do so
