Born into a fairly low born clan, Zelada never had much protection growing up on his homeworld of Ryloth. As a young teen, they mostly got themself into and out of trouble through their blend of wit and presence. His mischief finally caught up to him, however, and when he was discovered with the son of a high-born slaver, he was then sold into slavery to hide the secret of their relationship. Slavery under Dooma was terrible, and it was obviously there that their slave tattoo was inflicted upon them, among other injustices and injuries, up to and including rape. His big mouth landed him in plenty of trouble, and if not for the fact that Hutts have torture methods which leave no scarring on their 'dancers,' his back would be fully torn up with wounds for how often he was punished. But, the only reason he wasn't killed was the same reason he was eventually able to secure his freedom, his big mouth has a wit and charm that wins over most people he interacts with. By winning over Oona, he was able to turn a lifetime of continued slavery, into a contracted term of indentured servitude. He turned his first side payment into the emancipation cover-up that currently obscures the slave tattoo he hides under his head covering. Unfortunately, they tend to have a knack for trouble, and early on in Zelada's career as a contracted worker for Oona, they were finishing a job with a mob boss when he made some rude remarks and flashed his genitalia, prompting Zelada to do the obvious and cut it off. With only a few months left in Zelada's contract now, they are mostly keeping their head down and trying just finish this contract, escape the Hutts, and buy his own ship.

Zelada is an AMAB intersex person who was born with aspects of both AMAB and AFAB anatomy for Twi'lek. He identifies as a nonbinary guy, and uses both he/him and they/them pronouns. Only people who have laid with Zelada truly know what's 'in their pants' so to speak, but Zelada's appeal is magnetic to most even at least a little curious. They stand 6' 1" tall with a trim and athletic build. Green skin and turquoise eyes, his tchin (right lek or 'brain-tail') is marked near the brain base with a slave tattoo, which has since been covered up with an emancipation cover job, He wears a head-covering to cover it in public, as well as to hide the organs he uses to hear, an aspect of sexual dimorphism in Twi'lek. Whether he ever had breasts is up for debate, but his chest is presently flat, and there are no obvious signs of top surgery.
