Born on Glee Anselm, Zek Saesik is the son of an inventor and scientist mother, and a fisherman and local leader father. He had a warm and close relationship with his mother, who taught him the philosophies of science, and a friendly and respectful, yet distant relationship with his father.
During a research trip in the Oceans of Glee Anselm, his mother was injured slightly, which brought the attention of an ocean predator. Zek's Force sensitivity surfaced, and he instinctively warned the predator to stay away. Hearing of this event, his father pressured Zek to help him in his crusade against the growing ecological destruction of Glee Anselm from vacation resort corporations. After Zek declined, his father boasted to his compatriots about an anonymous force user who could help them, which brings in imperial scrutiny. Fearing for his family, Zek decides to leave Glee Anselm. He stows away on a vacation vessel, and spends the next 4 years of his life doing odd jobs across the galaxy, trying to learn more about his powers, and doing his best to help those in need.
