Background
Due to his talents as an animal empath, Galen was sent to Felucia when his time as a Padawan began. He was placed with a Shistavanen Jedi by the name of Vere Styvick, who was tasked with leading a scouting and infiltration unit of clone troopers. Vere, like many Shistavanen, was a survival expert who had spent most of his training learning how to use the force in wilderness settings. Galen was sent with him to try and deepen his ability to connect with other living beings in the force.
However, as war often does, things weren't always as anticipated. He had to learn warfare, as much as he was taught the power of the force. As Master Styvick instructed Galen in reaching out with the force, and connecting to the emotions and minds of animals, he was taught the way of war from the clone captain, "Ghille". Ghille and Galen struck a chord, Ghille showed the young Padawan everything he needed to know about survival in the jungle. How to forage, set up camps, how to clean and dress animals, and the effectiveness of a rifle over a saber when you need to hunt and ambush.
Galen's job within the infiltration unit soon centered around alerting the unit to potential dangers of the predatory fauna of Felucia. This eventually led to his medical leave to Coruscant. One day on the perimeter patrol, Galen felt a pull of the force, something was happening nearby the camp. Upon inspection, he found a young nexu next to their dying mother. A large predatory Aklay seemed to have made an attack on the mother and cub. Instinctively Galen ran in to defend the young animal. However his skills and early grasp of powers could only buy them time. Eventually the beast had over powered him, greatly injuring him. He may have lost his life that day if it wasn't for Master Styvick and Ghille, they had found Galen before it was too late and drove off the Aklay.
Galen wasn't ready for combat anymore. He needed to be sent to Coruscant for medical attention and rehabilitation. Despite his protest he eventually was loaded into a transport on their way back to the Core Worlds. However he didn't go completely alone. Captain Ghille entrusted his personal side arm to Galen, making him promise he'd come back and return it to him, as a promise that they would both see each other again. But also, the young animal that Galen rescued seemed glued to his side ever since the incident. Even attempts to remove it by the troopers resulted in some bite marks and mandelorian swears.
Now Galen rests and recovers in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, preparing himself to head back into the field with his comrades.
Motivation
Motivation: Creed - No One is Alone
One factor that seems to drive Galen is his desire to connect. He quickly melded with his new Jedi Master and the unit he was placed with on Felucia. As such, Galen has taken that as a core principle of his, to try and connect to as many people and living things through the force as possible. To truely understand how things are connected and deepen in the force.
Morality
Morality Score: 50
Strength: Empathy
Weakness: Vengeance
Galen is an empath in the strongest sense of the word. His connection to the force allows him to connect with those around him, feeling the impact and brunt of their strongest emotions. His control isn't the strongest yet over these powers however. He can't activate this emotional sense at will, but more importantly he can be easily swayed by stronger emotions.
When emotions of anger, rage, and injustice hit Galen. He has been apt to act upon them for the slighted party. If he senses someone has been unjustly acted upon, or something is suffering, he has shown rage and the want correct this actions on his own.
