Background
Kel's origins are quite unknown. It is said that one day, while younglings were going into the caverns of Ilum for the Gathering process, they stumbled across an infant wrapped in cloths. Considering no one was around, and that this place was no home for such a defenseless child, a Jedi Knight took him back to Coruscant and placed him within a foster home. A few years pass, and the very Jedi who took him back to Coruscant asks if Kel wishes to come to the Jedi Academy, as they've seen glimpses and hints of the Force in him. Kel, not knowing any better, agrees to become part of the Order.
Motivation
Kel's ambition is that of Expertise. To him, it is important that he learns how to defend and command for future conflicts as well as current ones; failure to prepare is preparing to fail.
