Background
Imperial Defector - Born and raised in Uyter's capital, Central City, Yun was born to a middle-class family loyal to the Empire as one would expect. While not especially overflowing with patriotism, his home was near the military starport, and in his youth he'd often watch stormtroopers walk back and forth, and wave to the troops and pilots as they came and left.
The unforgettable sight of a TIE ace returning from a mission against local pirates and the accolades heaped upon her for her skill and daring left enough of an impression that his course was clear. At the customary age, he enlisted in the Imperial Academy.
He'd never had much reason to take note of the inequalities present in Imperial Society, but the Uyter Academy was where all illusions about its proud and honorable nature were shattered. Present for an entire cadet group's strict disciplining for insubordination, his doubts were enhanced on a personal level by his strictly middling amount of talent, leaving him taunted frequently by his more gifted classmates and scorned by his teachers.
Yun Argo graduated two years ago to no particular fanfare. Assigned to a patrol craft, he'd been called to sortie several times, but never experienced live fire himself. However, flying recon gave him a front-row view to the sort of carnage war, and the Empire in particular, brings. His remaining enthusiasm quickly faded, and jadedness turned to a quiet, simmering anger.
His craft was boarded by Rebel SpecForce operatives and commandeered. Seeing his chance, inglorious as it was, Yun surrendered without a fight and sought defection. Pleading his case before Alliance interrogators, he was eventually deemed worthy of a chance...Whether he'll survive his efforts to win the Rebellion's trust remains to be seen.
Motivation
Best of the Best:
Yun feels like a new pilot ever since his defection. He is beyond eager to confront the Imperial Flight Corps, and contribute what he feels is his only saving grace to the Rebellion. In addition, having met many pilots in his time at the Academy, he feels a subtle responsibility to stop his friends from committing heinous acts, by any means necessary.
