Background
Dobba End is one of the few members of the Jedi Order who avoided the Jedi Purge; Otherwise known as Order 66. He was stationed aboard a Jedi AgriCorps transport headed toward the Outer Rim. Their mission was a supply run to bring fresh supplies and farming equipment to a remote world that had recently been devastated by natural disasters. The transport dropped out of hyperspace before the scheduled time and all of the crew members knew that something was wrong. The few Force-sensitive members of the AgriCorps, sentients that either felt more comfortable as members of the AgriCorps or simply were not skilled enough to become full Jedi, also sensed the Dark Side of the Force taking hold of the vessel. The clone trooper guards had taken over the bridge, killed the AgriCorps pilots, and Jedi captain in quick order. The main sectors of the ship were put on lock-down, and course was set for Coruscant. The clone troopers spoke over the intercom and informed the, now, prisoners that they were going back to the Inner Rim for processing and trials. All Jedi were now considered enemies of the State for attempting an assassination of Emperor Palpatine. Along the way, the senior surviving members of the AgriCorps crew realized that they would likely not receive fair trials and resigned themselves to their fate.
Dobba, however, was saved by the only other Ithorian on the ship. A kindly, older Ithorian swapped identification tags with Dobba and altered the tags to replicate a glitch when scanned. This allowed Dobba to use his marginal ability with the Force to persuade the troopers that his age was swapped in the system due to this error, and that the older Ithorian was the actual Force-sensitive Jedi. As he was still a child, Dobba was too young to realize the price that his mentor paid for him to survive. The Jedi Mind Trick was his first step on a much longer journey.
Now alone in the galaxy, Dobba had to find a way to survive. His first path took him back to an Ithorian herdship as a simple laborer, but he quickly had to abandon it once the Empire looked into the AgriCorps transport situation a little more closely. Leaving the herdship, Dobba ended up on Ord Mantell and earned a living as a tracker.
His cover story is one of betrayal. Dobba regales, to anyone that will listen, about his horrible ability as a gambler and how that cost his people to lose a herdship as recompense. His people exiled him for his transgressions and now he is alone and credit-less in a large, unforgiving galaxy. In truth, Dobba is secretly recalling the lessons from his youth and practicing the skills he will need in order to become a Jedi Knight. He may not be able to defeat the Empire on his own, but he refuses to let the Jedi Order fade quietly into antiquity.
