Acquired by a tech university in Gires as a very young spawn, 9 was first raised to be a part of a small unit of Gree scientists under a command of a senior operator. Working around complex problems , yet maintaining little mind of its own, it proved to be a valuable asset in research.

After the founding of the Empire, Gires became increasingly pro-human, until eventually the university got rid of their Gree unit. Most were taken away or killed. 9 was lucky in this instance. It managed to book a shuttle to Lantillies, figuring it could continue fulfilling its function in a university there. And it was correct.
Since then it has been trained further in computer science, and given the means to slice into systems without a permit. It has actually gotten a bit of a name for itself as a professional data scientist. As the Empire became more of a threat to their way of life, the university professor responsible for 9 taught it to use light weaponry. Then, knowing how useful the little creature could be, he sent 9 to serve Sector Force Lantillies.

Soon after, 9 was given a new directive: To follow commands from its unit leader, whoever that was. Now 9 is being deployed on a variety of missions as a slicer that follows commands almost like a droid.

9 has been sent from the Tech University of Lantillies, and is devoted to fulfill its function. Serving the interests of those who sent it is the highest priority to 9. Outside the University, it has no function, which 9 finds a profoundly disturbing thought.

10: Directive (Or through a bit of a twist: personnel. Specifically commander):

9 does not really care about most things. Like whether or not a wider mission succeeds, how it affects the world, or if it loses some of its "available resources" (like comrades, or indeed even its own limbs) in the process.
It completes the function given by the people who command it. Doing so accurately gives it a rush, which 9 follows after like a drone. When given the command, 9 follows it without remorse, almost indistinguishable from a droid.

9 is a Gree living far from home. Standing about 1 meter tall, featuring 6 tentacles and a face with no visible mouth, it is an odd thing to behold.
That is, if you see it without the mask which it needs to breathe. The mask does not help too much with the oddness though.

Often seen using the datapad and a variety of devices attached to sometimes multiple computers, 9 is content executing the intended function it has been given: To access and handle data.
If it gets threatened, the attacker might be suprised when it draws 4 blaster pistols at once, taking full advantage of the many appendices.
