Background
Edlegard had just been posted to her first station when the Empire suffered the loss of its emperor and the devastation of its superweapon the Deathstar II. Unlike many of her compatriots who turned tail and surrendered, Edlegard saw this as an opportunity. The Empire was in a state of turmoil. The perfect opportunity for her to make a name for herself.
She had always viewed the force as something obsolete, an ancient power, overdramatized by the legends surrounding it. As such, she was shocked to find that she was force sensitive. Now under the guidance of Sith Inquisitors, Edlegard is even more sure of her destined greatness. A destiny she intends to carve for herself even if fate itself opposes her.
Motivation
Edlegard's primary motivation is to leave her mark on history, but she thinks possibly her best chance of doing so is to unite the fractured empire under her banner. If she can lead the empire from its darkest hour, and crush the rebels that nearly toppled it, Edlegard will have achieved something not even Palpatine could.
Edlegard does disagree with the empire's previous stance on other species and hopes to create a system that is based more on merit than race.
Edlegard knows that her goals are quite high and that she has little chance of accomplishing them on her own. As such she is quite focused on amassing soldiers, and other people who are loyal to her. To obtain such a following, Edlegard goes out of her way to help those who she think can aid her quest.
Morality
Edlegard is ambitious, but often her ambitions cause her to come down too harshly on those who stand in her way. She's not above making an enemy into a martyr if it means she removes the obstacle.
Edlegard is also quite brave, rarely flinching in the face of danger, but more dangerous situations can cause her to react in anger. Perhaps her anger is a result of attempting to stave off fear?
Description
Physically imposing, the first thing many notice about Edlegard is her height. Standing taller than most human males, Edlegard always stands out. Paired with her pale skin, and unmarred visage, she has been confused for nobility many times in her life. Her long blonde hair lays straight falling smoothly past her shoulders. Her eyes are a shade between blue and gray, giving off almost a lilac hue under the proper lighting. She has a heavily athletic build, but rather than a thickly muscled torso of a weightlifter, she has a thin agile build more akin to a fencer, or a sprinter.
