Blaad Gazurga, or "Gaz", was born on Coruscant and spent most of his youth living in the city's rough underworld. Gaz idolized the Dug podracer, Sebulba, and set out to become a racer himself, taking part in illegal street racing using salvaged speeder bikes.

After earning enough credits from his winnings, Gaz was able to leave Coruscant for his species' homeworld, Malastare, and used his remaining credits to purchase his first podracer, winning in his first amateur race. Gaz quickly reached stardom as a rookie with his "rags to riches" story and big sponsorships but fell victim to his sudden rise in popularity and wealth. Gaz spent more time partying than focusing on training, and soon developed a heavy addiction to spice and death sticks that eventually ended his short-lived professional career.

Gaz gradually worked out his addiction issues but was unable to race at the highest level due to the effects of the long term drug abuse on his reflexes. With his dreams crushed, Gaz fell into a deep depression. However, he found work as a freelance smuggler for a variety of criminals, specializing in smuggling VIPs unnoticed to systems where their presence would otherwise put them at risk.

Though unable to pursue his old dream, Gaz has gained a newfound purpose as a reliable smuggler, a profession that takes advantage of his still viable piloting skills, as well as bringing him back to his roots in living a dangerous lifestyle. However, a series of unfortunate events resulted in a recently botched job, costing him much of his newly earned money as well as his status as a reliable smuggler. Desperate to restore his reputation, Gaz is prepared to take on a big job that will make or break him. He resides on The Wheel as it sits conveniently along the Perlemian Trade Route, where most of his jobs originate from.

Status:
Gaz seeks to become a top smuggler to gain recognition in order to attract the most powerful clients. He's also interested in status as he started from nothing, wishing to prove his worth despite his upbringing and past failings.
