Background
Mirax was born on his home planet, Kalee, in the Outer Rim. While still a small child, Imperial Forces arrived on Kalee to tame and integrate the planet into the Empire. The warring tribes of Kaleesh fought to defend their way of life as any civilization of tradition would. In a gruesome firefight, Mirax’s rebellious tribe was exterminated. However, the unit’s commander, Axiom, discovered a terrified young Mirax among the wreckage. Sparked by some vestige of character, Axiom rescued and adopted the orphan as his own.
Mirax grew under the watchful eye of Axiom on Coruscant, where he was indoctrinated into the Empire’s way of life. Mirax benefitted from his guardian’s wealth and power, attending the Empire’s finest on-world schools and starfighting academies. Before Mirax completed his training, Axiom was reported as killed/MIA after last being seen stationed on the first Death Star before the terrorist attack run. Axiom never told Mirax of his family’s fate at his legion’s own hand.
Orphaned again, Mirax was turned away from his bright future in the Empire, special rights and permissions revoked with the tightening of Imperial coffers and resources due to the increasing rebel threat. However, Mirax often boasts that he wouldn’t have suffered another day in a TIE cockpit, as they lacked such staples as a decent stereo, leg room, a life support system, or hyperspace capabilities.
Mirax turned his efforts to starship racing leagues and old Starfighter destruction derbies to pay for his expensive traveling habits. However, with the fall of the Empire, space was becoming too dangerous to venture into alone. Mirax was looking for a new purpose – a new reason to drive fast and explore the galaxy.

Other Notes
- Mirax is known as one of the best Starfighter aces in the Outer Rim. However, his barely above average talents at avoiding obstacles at the last moment are amplified by his ability to move them with the Force (his top secret).
- Mirax wears a traditional Kaleesh ceremonial mask, decorated with both markings of his family tribe as well as those resembling a Stormtrooper helmet.
- Mirax is, in a word, reckless. He often flies under the call sign “Maverick.”
- Mirax has a fascination with close encounters with death. He has a startling memory of seeing an unfathomable being during one of these events and ever hunts the experience again.
