Chet always loved machines. From a very early age, he would spend countless hours with his Family, who were a famed Pod Racer team. Chet just loved seeing how all the parts worked together, and how all the parts depended on one another. Just like his Family. His Father and mother kept the pod running for his sister, the pilot,and depended on him to help pick up the slack, His sister depended on him and for moral support, he depended on her for the same reason his parents did. They all worked together to keep the family legacy going.
But that legacy soon became endangered when their sponsor, A dug part dealer named Guhdux Waltid, was killed by the empire in a raid on his shop. He was supposedly caught selling to Jedi. But the Lassiters knew this was false because all Jedi were dead, right?
They tried to find another sponsor, but with the ever decreasing popularity of the sport, it was impossible. Even though his father often said "Impossible is just another kind of possible", their hope for a stable future was dwindling.
One day Chet and his family were approached by a rebel recruiter who offered to pay them if they could find a way to take down a local Empire listening post covertly and make it look like a structural failure.
The Family tried to look at the blueprints but they were not really versed in taking things apart. Except for Chet. his job in the shop was to scrap parts for the parts of the parts. To salvage. And after taking the capacitor out of a TX-3200 Pod racer turbine, a Building didn't seem to hard to him. He there was a part that if removed, could bring the whole thing down. And he found that part, and when removed, that's just what happened.
So now he goes from mission to mission for rebel command with his family in tow, taking things apart so that they can stay together.
